Recently hooked up the King of Kings to a classic seventies tube amp, the Evan Bass 60. The Italian craftsmanship of this amp paired with the pedal is pure bliss! Video's up on my channel.

Very nice video with an effect from JOYO, I've had it myself for about a year + about 12 more. The R series is well made, including optional lighting. I wish you all the best and lots of quality tests like this one. Pavel Czech Republic.

A big reason why the price is low is the original design of the pedal requires basic generic parts that are not expensive. There are no rare expensive parts in the design. Plus the circuit design is actually simple. As a result making a great knock off version is extremely easy to achieve.

The Joyo pedal is a good cheap alternative to Mike's King of Tone, but it in no way replaces or surpasses it. Like all Joyo pedals it is made essentially using slave labor in China with good construction on the outside and cheap silicon as its base. Like every other commercial pedal on the market. That's why the price point is so attractive. Silicon at high volume will sound just fine, as this pedal does, but Mike uses germanium for his pedals and the wiring is top notch. So, if and when you actually do want gain but not excessive volume, you get the incredible nuance and subtlety that The Analog Man pedal delivers, and that this pedal most certainly does not. Now, are Mike's prices way up there? Yes. Is the wait time a huge asspain? Yes. He's basically a 1-3-person operation using the best quality materials and paying USA labor and costs. The Joyo pedals (and the Donners, and the Moers) are always solid and many of us simply cannot or will not pay the exorbitant prices of boutique stuff. But there is no real comparison between what this pedal can do and what a King of Tone can do.

I appreciate your point and I have to agree on most of those. But when comes in a mix is perfectly fine this pedal also at lower volume and lower gain.

Sorry, on this point we are going to disagree. I've listened to and played both extensively and at low volume, in my humble opinion, it's not even close.@@MadSteex

People have to consider the price too..sounds really different as the different price? absolutely not.
So the price of 1000 EUR for the original pedal is all FLUFF

Just get the 68 Pedals if you are that hard up for the King of Tone. I am not waiting 5 years for no pedal whatsoever or under circumstances; not from Analman or whomever

The King of tone is the most over priced pedal on the market. Analog man has a nice marketing scheme going. He makes you wait for the pedal to give you the illusion there's a demand. Lots of used ones on Reverb. Just sayin

@@MadSteex Which currency is that? Their website says $325 plus any customisation charges. Not cheap but not overly silly for a small US company. Secondhand prices can be ridiculous but new ones are normal expensive.

@@sometimesdimneverthin I mean 1000€ if you it now. 325$ in 5 years (maybe cause is not assured you will get the pedal in 5 years waiting list)
