- Back from commercial after performing "Murder Inc", one of their first times playing together again, Bruce Springsteen with the E Street Band, perform the end of "Tenth Avenue Freezeout" and "Secret Garden" on the Letterman show on April 5, 1995, as a promotion for the "Greatest Hits" CD. Beautiful solo by the Big Man, Clarence Clemons. Nice to see Danny on the organ too.
For anyone who's been in love with someone who keeps their heart out of reach, this song is an anthem.
What an incredibly beautiful piece, built around just three tiny little notes. This one and "Streets of Philadelphia" are both remarkable.
Gold words!..
That place where you cant remember and you cant forget
this song probably will go for the books as "one of the greatest immortalize tunes of ths generations talents..and arguably one of great masterpieces of music..
My sister died recently and she was an alcoholic it was so sad she had a secrecy garden
I saw Jerry Maguire again today on HBO. Brings back the memories in 1996 when I was 17. Damn! This song feels like going home.
2221 year - still beautiful. Out of time!
How can one person have this much musical talent ?
On this day in 1996 {December 13th} the movie "Jerry Maguire" premiered in Canada...
One week earlier on December 6th it had its world premier in New York City...
The film was nominated for five Academy Awards; and won one {Cuba Gooding, Jr. for 'Best Supporting Actor'}...
Bruce Springteen's "Secret Garden" was featured in the movie; and it eventually peaked at #19 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart...
The song was originally released in 1995, reaching #63 on the Top 100...
One of The Best Live Version of "Secret Garden" especially i love the beat of drums.. yeah!
Yeah!! Drums sounded so awesome
Revisiting ... I watched him perform this remarkable song late that evening on Letterman. It still captures my emotions, and if I see him relating the words like this, the presentation will make my knees go weak. It would be impossible to pick the more impactful song between this and his riveting "Streets of Philadelphia". I give up, he is THE BOSS.
I miss Dave. I miss Clarence. I miss sooo much in this tragic lock down; dec 2020. Thank god we have these treasures 💖,
Rock n roll will never die ✌️
🤘🇧🇷♥️
And Dan Federici who was key to developing that shore sound with Roy.
It's incredible that three tiny little notes carried this song ( and the film ) to a fan favorite world wide .... CLASSIC STUFF
All the times I've heard this song, I just looked up the words and studied them. The character of intense expression in this song is crazy.
Holy smokes... this has to be an all-time "late night TV talkshow" performance. crazy good.
i love the that sweet softness patti brings to the song
The exact same thing she did in Moonlight Motel.
Wow the energy here is just incredible. Timeless legends and the big man was there too!
Great sax solo The Big Man ROCK´s......
They all look so young. And people probably thought they were old guys then.. lol.

She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
There's a secret garden she hides
She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' 'round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice
You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember
And you can't forget
She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
And she'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay a million miles away
Goose skin to each one of his songs! Just great.

He's the Robert De Niro of rock music
I think you mean De Niro is the Bruce Springsteen of acting?
More like the Al Pacino of Rock Music ;)
We miss you Clarence
Wonderful song
No lip syncing.... REAL talent...real music.... Nowadays it's a bunch of crap
Clarence Clemons was the best. RIP Big Man.
The Boss Is the Boss. The Band Is the Band
I loved this song BEFORE "Jerry McGuire" came out.
Its funny then u let friends hear it, they look at u like ur crazy, then after the movie they ask u whats the name of the song
Much better than movie
the best ever!!!!
greetings from italy ; )
That end never end ..😔
Love it...and cross my heart.👌👌👌
Fantantic, simple
This is my favorite song of all time!
It's really nice to have an artefact of it being played live around the time it popped out. I feel like Bruce wasn't that comfortable with the song back in '95 tho. If he still is..? Maybe that's why they don't perform it at all (except that majestic performance from Leeds). Here you can clearly see how he tries to mask the lyrics by not pronouncing them fully and more mumbling them. That's as sexy and kinky song as Reno from Devlis And Dust album and there must be some kind of a heavy story about the whole thing for him.
WTF???
Non-stop til 2021
Io amo questa canzone, molto bella e romantica.
E street band the best
Legendary and unique.
i love
Brilliant
❤

Very BOSSY
Tengo frío y te extraño estrella
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺🇭🇺
Nice
🔥💛💛
Who really plans these scenes ? Or is it all spontaneous?
there is this chap relaxing on a stool looking for all the world like a member of the audience.
When its his turn he casually lifts the instrument and aces it! Unbelievable production.
@Mike B Got it! Sorry to hear about the fellow's passing. Appreciate the info.
This is all new to me. My remarks are a light-hearted dig at the settings and how simple the saxophonist in particular, made it all look.
@Mike B "..what kind of music.."
Bob Marley, Mighty Sparrow, Jackie Opel...but I enjoy that genre also. Thanks again ole chap.
Tony Stark is even more talented than I thought! :P
you've gone a million miles, how far did you get?
2019 Brasil
💋❤🇧🇷❤🎺🎷🎸🎶🎤🥁🤘🤘
Secret Garden- Bruce must have known the woman who broke my heart. Describes her to a T.
5:17
the booooss
What are the chords to the Secret Garden?
@paz62900 It's not only "romanticism".. This is the portait of a woman..
The snare is a bit over-powering...
true. but i still love it.. :)
It's the tom not the snare but definitely too much
Pretty good joke at 1:24. I enjoyed that one.
From Jerry maguire....wow
how to pianos evan worke?/
You are RITE ,Blind ! TERRY TUCCI EITHER VERY DOWN OR JUST NOT FEELING IT???? IT SEEMS HES AT ANOTHER PLACE IN HIS MIND¿?/I.D.K. BUT ITS HURTING ME TO SEE HIM LIKE THIS!! THANK YOJ + Blind TERRY TUCCI+
I don't know if it was depression, desperation, or boredom but you can see in this and the Murder Inc. clip that nobody in the band is into it. When even Bruce looks bored/depressed you know there's something seriously wrong in that band.
Don't be such a drama queen. They hadn't been together for almost 10 years prior to this. So there was naturally a readjustment period for a bit til they all gelled again, personally and musically.
Seven years. They looked less depressed at the shows right after Danny died. The 1995 reunion was a mistake and that's been made very clear over the years. You don't need to look much further than the fact that they got back together just so Bruce could scrap an E Street album for "Tom Joad", not play with them again for almost 5 years, and not record anything together for 8. Bruce took his longest stretch of time between albums after this. Looking at it from that angle puts everything I said into perspective. Saying they needed time to "gel" is true...they needed 11 years because they sure as hell weren't gelling here. I think it's safe to say that the 1995 reunion was a misguided choice...even a desperation move.
Blind Terry Tucci Well, I'm not nearly as cynical as you are about the whole reunion period. Besides that, you're not really making a well thought out point here. Are you inferring that Bruce only reunited to increase his public profile after a somewhat "off" era in his career after the tepid reviews/reception of Human Touch / Lucky Town period? I and most Bruce fans just see the time between Tunnel of Love and the Live in NYC CD as Bruce getting over his bad first marriage, marrying Patty, and finding his passion and inspiration again as a musician. I'm not so naive to think there were no hurt feelings when he stopped playing with the E Street group after Tunnel, but it wasn't done as a move to kick dirt in their faces and make them feel unworthy of his time and talent.
is that johnny depp?
