I love seeing inside grocery stores in other countries! I was in Berlin about four years ago and loved it going to the Ritter sport factory store, I took home so much chocolate! They have so many great flavors, and they’re kind of hard to find in the US. Also those Christmas advent calendars looked so cute!
I’m obsessed with Aldi! It’s so cheap and we can get our groceries for under $120 for the month which is amazing! Germany’s Aldis seem amazing! I hear it’s more common for them to have fresh bakeries and delis as well!
06:32 You do not "pay" for your cart. It is an incentive to roll your cart back, so we don't have employ to people to scour the parking lot all the time.
That was really interesting. It's not as different as I thought it might be. It's so interesting to see another country from the perspective of someone that is living there. Thank you for sharing!
Oh when my dad lived in Germany we used to go to Lidl all the time I was so surprised to see it here in the states as well! To this day Aldi is my favorite I love how cheap stuff is there :)
@@JamieVaca I live just outside of Raleigh, NC in Youngsville and there are Lidl and Aldi all over the place in fact it almost seems like the are on every street corner.
I like how they have the bakery stuff where you're not opening the glass and putting your hands in it! oooo no I can't go to Germany if the chips aren't good 🤣
Hello. There is Kaufland, Globus and Real. They're a bit like Target and Walmart. And there are Pocco, Teddi, Obi, Bauhaus etc. You can perhaps compare them with Hobby Lobby. Btw I love your channel.
Thank you 💛 I’ve been to all of these places and I would definitely shop at all of them, but I don’t want Americans to have high expectations for target/hobby lobby dupes.
That Aldi is Hugeee it makes ours I the U.S. look so small lol lol really really great finds I also did a video on ALDI in NYC it was nothing compared to this lol lol tfs hun.
This was interesting to watch 🤓 I’m an Aldi fan. I love shopping at Aldi here in the USA. So it was nice to see what Aldi is like in German. I thought the egg in the dry goods section is a bit weird. I would have to get use to that. Honestly I might forget to buy eggs if I live there cause I’m use to them being in the cooler section. 😊🌻
Eggs when newly laid have a protection layer. It works at least as long as the hen usually sits on the egg. In the US this layer is washed away, so they must be cooled against bacterial spoiling.
yes i will definitely get better shots of the bakeries! I plan to do some other grocery stores (haven't even gotten to my fav ones!) but since Germany is in a lockdown I figured I'd should wait😔.
Yup I said it earlier in the video, but they have locations in the United States and it is the only store comparable to a German grocery store so that is why I keep using American Aldi as a point of reference for my American viewers.
hello from peru! great video but i am so curious if i may ask. what is the ethnicity of the man in the video? im so curious about people lol thank you.
Hahaha yes that’s probably true for lots of Americans in Europe but the military community still uses US dollars on our bases so we have lots of Euro coins and American coins still in our wallets.
Here you have an umlaut to spell Grafenwöhr correctly: "ö". Umlauts aren't decorational, they're vowels in their own right. The pronunciation is more akin to the word "were" instead of "veer".
In the US military community they officially spell grafenwoehr as such, so if an American is searching for my videos this is the spelling they would likely try. Thank you though.
@@JamieVaca The diphtongs "oe", "ae", and "ue" are 99% correct replacements in case umlauts aren't availlable. You can still name the video with umlaut and have the Army spelling in the tag box. Anyone looking for such videos will still be able to find it.
John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
You have to try the Leibniz-cookies with choclate or the "pickup". Those are also quite tasty, if you haven't tried those.

RitterSport is the best!! it’s my absolute fav, I was so happy to see it in the states but they definitely lack variety.

Thanks for clarifying. I think everyone understands the concept. 😅
I have a lidl right by my house and I love it so much. Their bakery is delicious. I also love shopping at Aldi as well.

I’ve never shopped at Aldi before nor even in the US but I’m glad to hear it’s affordable & all that bread omg 😱
Oooh I love Aldi and Lidl! I always end up buying so much stuff when I go into either of them because everything is so cheap but such good quality!
Lidl and Kaufland are my favorite. Lidl has cheap own Branded good stuff and Kaufland has Always Discounts on a Lot of items.

@@JamieVaca oh yeah there a few around me!

Im moving to Germany in November & I’m legit so excited to go grocery shopping 🤣 I can’t wait 🥰
Im moving there in April and it's the thing I'm most nervous about lol
No dont be! It’s an adjustment but it’s just a new challenge to take on! You just learn to do things a little differently.
Oh, Milka and Lindt are Swiss chocolate brands but very popular in Germany. If you want a German chocolate, try some Ritter Sport.
Oh no lol Ritter Sport is my FAVORITE 😍 so at least I wasn’t wrong when I said German chocolate is the best.
Please make a video about prices of prepared food in Lidl or Aldi) And about prices in not so expensive cafes, restaurants etc for ordering to home)
I would love to, but with all the covid restrictions in Germany it is hard to shop/ let alone film 🥺
Ok. Anyway I will be waiting for this video 😍
Sounds like a cool place to get basic stuff for everyday and everything is there including breads. Items are less expensive like walmart..
Never been to aldi but that croissant looks so good. I like the stocking up on wine best gift ever 😌
Try the chikibai curry chips (in the green bag) They are amazing! 🤤 I miss Germany so much!
I like how they have the bakery stuff where you're not opening the glass and putting your hands in it!
oooo no I can't go to Germany if the chips aren't good 🤣
Yes it’s so covid friendly lol my husband is making it look harder than it is too 🤣
You can find good chips in many varieties in Germany.

I’d take a big ole Walmart over an Aldi any day 😂 but yes now that you say that, it may be quite a bit bigger than an American Aldi.
I wish I shopped at aldis. The produce they get here goes bad super fast. Aldis is German look almost identical to the USA. Great video.
My German friend is moving to America and asked about American Aldi and I said the same thing about their produce! lol
For your info: Lindt chocolate and Milka chocolate are not german brands. They are AUSTRIAN brands ;)
Oh yes I’ve been told 😂 thank you!
No, they are swiss brands
Great video! I was wondering if a good selection of fresh fish (not farm raised) is available in the area? Thanks
I see you got your wine it must be cold over there in the winter.

That may seem a bit strange at first glance, but technically eggs don't have to be cooled

I'd like a closer look at a bakery , if you want 💕

Milka and Lindt are german brands??
Good, our Swiss neighbor isn’t listening!!
I’ve already been corrected 😂 I guess I was misinformed, I now refer to everything as European because I just can’t keep track.
@@JamieVaca it’s flattering to mix up Swiss with product’s of Germany- Swiss quality means quality while German quality profits from reputation. 😉
Please tell, whats the story of them big puppys .....

Yes I agree I always meant to make an edeka one cuz it’s my fav. But the pandemic has made filming in public kinda hard.
