You make that look easy with easy to do steps.
I used my tiller about two weeks ago 8t worked fine. I cranked it up today and it sounds like something grating across the tines. I checked the only thing was one of the pins holding the tines was bent. Still making the sound. It didn't seem to be slipping, nothing was smoking ,my dad is seventy and it's good friday. So went ahead and tilled for his tomatoes. I think I really need to grease the gearbox.
Very nice
I was looking more for what's wrong wit the transmission and repairing it as opposed to replacing it. Thanx.
Powermate doesn't offer any of the internal repair parts for the transmission.
Look up the Earthquake MC43 - same exact tiller and you can get parts diagrams and they will let you order individual parts or the whole transmission (and it's cheaper)

I found the worm gear for my Dynamark 2/10 tiller thru walmart of all places. Briggs-and-Stratton-56159MA-Shaft-Gear-Long-1B52/179104959 ...... $25
got the gear on last night and she works great. Was hard getting all the stuff lined up perfectly for the case to bolt up correctly. Can't believe i got the correct part for this thru walmart either.
It is not a cotter pin is is a hear pin
You make it look too easy to replace a tiller transmission.
Yet, my local small engine repair shop won't even try to replace a transmission.
They've said repairing would cost more than just buying a new one, again.
Someone please, care to tell me, why? Lol.
