At 7.45. Buddy trust me on this. Only use the 4 corners to fasten to the floor. Tighten only by hand with very slight tighten by spanner. Shutter around each foot with wood and pour in levelling concrete. Otherwise you can distort the bed of the machine. This is common to set it straight. Everyone knows that. If you want to confirm what I'm saying try some gauge under each foot on each corner .
the problem with the anchor bolts in my experiance, they do not like to be 'adjusted; once set up. Now I see your logic for the clamping nut over the concrete - be sure to use a thick steel load spreader so you clamp a decent sized chunk of concrete between the anchor and the floor - otherwise it just pulls through. The other option is to chemical anchor via a 'stuck down plate' rather than stud stuck into the concrete slab. Ive seen that done on some big 30 mt blow moulding machines. My small lathe (about 450kg) is held on m16 (or might be m20) studs set in 4" slab with chemical resin. It has been very reliable - but the loads are far lower than with your larger lathe.
Where were the lathe ways reground? I guess somewhere in Finland? I have small Weiler LD220 lathe that could benefit from reground but I have no idea where it could be done.
i wonder what the "4 major problems" were with the repair...looks like he did an uneven job on the left one, at least cosmetically..I'd report him to BBB better business bureau and leave a bad/negative review with low grade after clean and paint that will be a work of art
Hi From Australia.. Try searching "epoxy bearing material and method" I used it to re-bed the saddle of a similar size VDF lathe. Its worked for 7 years so far.
This is going to be an interesting project. I think that you are over engineering the project a bit but it is better to have too much than too little. Doing the repairs in the saddle yourself, good move. I'll be anxiously awaiting each video regarding this project. Be well and prosper.
I think too that cemical bolts are better. I have boltet my Dubble T 220x210mmx9250mm for my roof with 6x 16mm thredet rod in the concrete floor from the house with Hilti Hit HY 200 2K. Acturly HY 270 is New and Stronger. Good Stuff. We are Use this in my Elektro company for Heavy Jobs the Metal bolds are not so strong. I have from time to tome metal bolts pullt out from concrete but never a hilti 2K Bolt.
Hey I remember that machine, funny how long this rebuilding stuff can take eh 8). Am no pro by any stretch but ive a lathe rebuild and a couple of scraping tune ups under my belt. Done a quick video on what I did re leveling etc, my machine bolts down on 4 points, im guessing yours is 6 (4 under the head stock and 2 under the tail stock) but the same deal in general. Roughly level the machine to the earth so the oil dont run off the ways ;) and use 1 point to fine tune out any twist you may have. ua-cam.com/video/0Tp2tKvD5JQ/v-deo.html Whats up with saddle btw? My suggestion: nylon lock nut.+washer+lathe foot+washer +nylon lock nut.

Those sleeve anchors are old technology I would use a wedge anchor or epoxy anchors
