Ever Watch a Building Get Recycled?

This video features a sped up, time lapse video of the sequential and systematic deconstruction of a 7-storey, concrete and brick government building in downtown Toronto. At one time a government bookstore before becoming a provincial office building, 880 Bay was over 70 years old and beyond its useful life. The project achieved a 95 per cent waste diversion rate, meaning materials in the video were recycled, avoiding landfills. Priestly Demolition also used innovative sea containers as hoarding at street level to keep pedestrians safe.
