Liam was still in character for the entire thing. Poor Caleb....
What a reveal, and with Frumpkin-vision, too. I love how Liam responded as Caleb throughout, just look at the heartbreak. Wow.
Now that SPOILER has been confirmed is even sadder...
The wail of shock/disbelief/despair at the end done me in. (I was loosing my shit anyway but that was the nail in the coffin) oof
I could hear that title... aN iLlUsIoN wHaT aRe YoU hIdInG?!?!
Roses are red,
Suramar is bright.
That's not a Nightborne,
SOMETHING'S NOT QUITE RIGHT!
@@CriticalRoleHighlights
Roses are red violets are - Citizens of Dalaran! Raise your eyes to the skies and observe! Today our world's destruction has been averted in defiance of our very makers! Algalon the Observer, herald of the titans, has been defeated by our brave comrades in the depths of the titan city of Ulduar.
You didnt want this, you didn't ask for this, but here you are spying on some shady people and suddenly you friend is one of them.
I DM with the hopes of one day getting a reaction like this from my players.
Floaty hot bois are dangerous
You can't trust a floaty hot boi.
Floating is like the guitar playing of fantasy
I wish I had seen every other episode of CR so i too could feel shocked and amazed
It takes a while but it's worth it. Also a tip, this is part of campaign 2. Campaign 1 has different characters and a different setting.
For those who need some context but dont want to watch the other episodes just yet (yes this is spoilers read at ur own expense):
TLDR:Essik is a drow mage who was tasked with watching the M9. At first the party were somewhat hesitant around him thinking he may be a traitor or at very least spying on them for the bright queen herself (who at that point they weren't to sure about helping). After a few favors from Essik (such as free transport) and him never asking for anything unreasonable in return. Party thought "Oh he's a good guy probably misunderstood too". A while after he also came to like the M9, they understood him and in Caleb's case (and Nott to a smaller degree) they were like him. They wanted to explore magic and do what was currently unthinkable with it. He even reveals the reason he floats is because for someone of power he did it to seem strong and intimidating and to stop now after that he is known as the ever-floating mage is unnerving to him. So yeah he revealed his aspirations and his current situation. The M9 took this as him (Essik) trusting them, thought they were officially friends. Then literally a couple days after they found out this, that he is a traitor, a traitor that started a war that has killed thousands. (BTW if u havnt seen the rest of the episode they hold a intervention for him and tell him he needs to make things right)
That Suramar reference.
*hops into a basket*
@@BashStash I preferred Grog's method of handling things. "ummm, Ok... cool.. everybody's gotta die..."
He breaks your heart, then fixes it again. Dem floaty hot bois, I tell ya.
You trust him again. But wait until you realize that he cast Mind Blank on himself, giving Matt no reason to ask for insight checks and any insight players make on their own terms are futile attempts. Unless I missed something that indicates he couldn't have been under the effects of spell.
That title gave me a nervous breakdown
Something's not quite right.
Who goes there?
@@CriticalRoleHighlights never mind... must have been the wind
@@godleydemon was that an epic npc man reference?
I REALLY wish Taliesin’s microphone wasn’t blocking so much of his face. We can’t see the (very few) reactions he has!
The meme! I LOVE THE TITLE
Witcher 3 music in the background?
Velen or white orchard?
Not ma boi D'x
Traitor!
Who is the drow???
You'll have to watch Campaign 2 from their first time in Xhorhas to find out ;) Seriously, if you haven't watched the campaign in full you're spoiling yourself terribly here.
Oh, you know, one of them dang ol mages. Always stirring sumthin up. Well, hell.
YEE-HAWWW
He is known as "the floater", since he poops while hovering above the toilet.
