  • In physics, motion refers to the change in the position of an object with respect to time. The study of motion is fundamental in understanding how objects move and interact in the physical world. Motion can be classified into different types:
    1. Rectilinear Motion: This is the motion of an object along a straight line. For example, a car moving on a straight road or an object falling vertically under gravity.
    2. Circular Motion: This occurs when an object moves along a circular path. Examples include the motion of the Earth around the Sun or a stone tied to a string being whirled in a circle.
    3. Oscillatory Motion: This is a back-and-forth motion about a central point, often called the equilibrium position. Examples include the motion of a pendulum or the vibrations of a guitar string.
Each type of motion has unique characteristics and is described by different sets of physical laws.
