I understand the water fording depth was a joke, but I'm not going to let that stop me from commenting with some factual information.
As the owner of a 1963 Amphicar, I can confirm that the front is likely to lift up if traveling through water at more than about 4 mph. BUT, the at the same time, the back will squat, maintaining traction on the rear wheels in somewhat deeper water. The front goes up and the back goes down basically because the car is trying to climb the face of it's own bow wave.
Anyway, even with the front tires off the lake bottom, they can provide some steering. The Amphicar is steered in the water with only it's front wheels/tires (it does not have rudders). I suspect the disk brakes, if not the tires and wheels, on the McLaren would be enough to steer it a little even if the front tires lose contact with the lake bottom.
So the lifting of the front end is not enough, on its own, to stop it when fording. The question remains, how deep can it ford? I demand a test to find out. :)

In all seriousness though, most of the time whenever I see any SUV (even if it's not supposed to be used for off roading) and sometimes when I see a sedan I wonder what it's off-road capabilities r 😅. For some reason I imagine muscle cars are just more off-road worthy supercars

Good video!! The inlet is elevated to create flow separation between -- which could also be achieved by drilling a series of holes into the point before the intake in a staggered pattern - skipping the need for an inlet diverter and using an inlet bleed instead or bypass duct. If weight is a concern, go with a bunped inlet. The reason you do this is because turbulent air when entering a system creates pockets of inconsistent compression which are bad for combustion. This is actually an aircraft engineering principle! Cars are also often curved because it forms what's called an inverted lifting-body -- that the body shape itself generates downforce via the natural pressure differential of the floor to the roof -- though you often need rear diffusers toward the back (seen as splitter-plates or fins) or ground-effect (which hovercrafts fake to produce lift) becomes a problem and you risk forming a skirt-pocket of air that lifts the car off the road. This is why in high performance cars, the floor of the vehicle's shape is very important!

So I wonder why they didn’t use the NACA duct? A lot of research went into extracting air from the stream while adding as little drag as possible. I guess it would have intruded in the cabin too much?

So what does this car use the vents in the doors for? Radiators only? Also, what would the vent in the cheaper cars be on the passenger side behind the B-pillar.

I do have a question. How does the vehicle handle leaves and bugs and other debris that enters the air scoop? Is there a receptacle that the owner can empty on his own? Or is it emptied when the car gets serviced?

Reminds me of a WW2 Era aircraft called the P-39 Airacobra. The air intake was right behind the cockpit.
