It sounds like it was something written for it to come out wrong purposely to add fuel to the fire for Walker. The senator isn't on his shoes to know, and Falcon didn't even bother saying that they should set up a meeting right then and there in front of everyone to talk about it later. He's a freaking Avenger. And if you think 100% of them just don't care, well, I'm sure there are also things you should be caring about yet you just don't because the human brain can't care about every single thing that needs to be fixed. And being a leader isn't easy for those who don't know shit about leading.

Steve saw something good in Sam and knows what life was like for Sam as a kid so he gave the shield to him because he believed/knew that Sam would use the shield to represent freedom and liberty. that's the whole reason why Walker was just not worthy of the shield and suit because he gave into anger and brutally killed someone in public. Terrorist or not can you honestly tell me that you can imagine Steve bashing his shield into a guy's chest like he's trying to be in Mortal Kombat? the shield is more than just a flashy weapon that can be used to kill bad guys it's a damn symbol that means something. that's what made Steve Rogers/Captain America special:he always tried to do the right thing against all other odds, even when the government was against him he tried to do what was right. and that's what Sam tries to do. not understanding that is misrepresenting the ENTIRE point of Captain America and why he's special.

John Walker as conceived by Mark Gruenwald is one of the most interesting comic characters of all-time. He was essentially a normal guy thrust into the role of Captain America; he didn't ask for it, but he didn't refuse his nation's call. And like many great Marvel characters, in his ensuing journey, you saw him struggle, falter and fail just as often as you saw him win. He didn't always make the right choices but what was compelling about him was that, in spite of his failings, he was always striving to do the right thing and to live up to Captain America's legacy. Even when he ended up going berserk following the murder of his parents, you could feel for and sympathize with him. By the time the story reached it's climax in a battle between John Walker and the former Captain America, Steve Rogers, both characters had their partisans. A lot of people wanted to see Steve Rogers back as Captain America, but nearly as many had grown to empathize with John Walker's feet of clay and his struggle to live up to an impossible standard.
But for some reason, aside from Gruenwald, almost everyone who has taken on the character has decided to write him as a "jingoistic" version of Captain America; a sort of darker, more chauvinistic and nationalistic version of Steve Rogers who mindlessly follows the dictates of the government. I guess this series gives him a little bit of his former complexities, but at the cost of being everyone's punching bag. He mostly just seems like a stand-in for everything the writers despise about American patriotism, rather than someone you're supposed to relate to and sympathize with.

So it's naive to think this malice was solely based on race, which Hydra founded by actual nazis. They experimented and tortured several other characters in the MCU of various races. (Such as Doctor List cut Skye's mother to pieces to take her power on Agents of Shield.)
The only characters to till Sam he shouldn't be Captain America because he's black is Isaiah Bradley and Sam himself. Every other character is indifferent to his race, as they encourage him to take the shield in many cases. No one actually is racist toward Sam besides other Black people calling him Black Falcon. Which he then says it's just Falcon...but then say Yes when they say he's "Black" Captain America. Which is it Sam? Sam was never concerned with race prior to this show, as he just kicked ass with Steve without an issue. This same universe where a black man was called Ironpatriot. No one ever made a stink about his race prior. Yet he harps on it all too often but never actually has any case to be made of why he feels that way beyond...racism exists. (Which is super lazy writing.)
This show never gives a different point of view as it just filters everything through as Leftist Propaganda. There's nothing brave, balanced ,or nuanced about parroting the narrative Hollywood and the media streammedia are saying. Compare this to say Black Lightning which tackles race in a far more interesting manner. One of the scenes that impressed me when i saw it, was during a training exercise when Jefferson is training Thunder, his eldest daughter to use her powers. She is supposed to only hit the hostile people that are holograms, and she avoids attacking all the innocent bystanders by one. The guy wearing a confederate flag, as she assumes he's a threat and attacks him. She's like well of course that guy is a threat....but he says no. We're not here be the thought police, as he doesn't condone what the guy believes, but says we're not here to decide who we protect. That scene took guts to include...nothing in Falcon and Winter Soldier did.

@@ShadowSonic2 You really shouldn't made this sorry attempt to counter. Change your avatar, as you are no Einstein, unless you're like his bizarro verse.
-The show never said the loan denial was over race.
No, the show clearly was framing the rejection of the loan was based on race with his sister's reaction.(Plenty of normies cite as such proving that was the the intent.) She was implying it was why she couldn't get one. Which Sam goes I will handle the white people. It was framing race as the struggle.
-That's no excuse. 2 guys arguing doesn't merit Cops.
No, people looking like they're going fight as Sam yelling loudly is a legit reason for the cops to question what's happening. They didn't draw their guns on him, they demand he ID himself and tell them what was going on, Sam then acts like a punk to them. Again this all just makes Sam look like a asshole not the cops. They were in a bad neighborhood, and Sam and Bucky's body language were saying they were going to fight to anyone not aware they were friends. Police were completely justified in investigating what was happening. You just saying no it's not shows you have fuck all of understanding of how law enforcement works. If they see signs of violence they get involved. (I had a bloody nose after a fight, and they got involved despite me wanting to just go clean up then go home.) It's all based off probable cause not race.
      -"It was actually both."
Again you fail. It must suck beign so pisspoor at this. You try correct me, but logic shows you are wrong. Hydra tortured and experimented on people of all races. It's a pursuit of power at any cost, including your humanity. (Hence why the red Skull looks the way he does, not exactly being subtle here.) Hydra infiltrated Shield, and their operatives killed plenty of white people who got in their way like Dan Sousa and Victoria Hand. They experiment on multiple inhumans to take their powers. Their race didn't matter nor did their humanity to Hydra.
-You've never heard of Henrietta Lacks and the Tuskegee Studies then.
I'm aware of the real world situation in which terrible things happened to good men. My point has never been real racism doesn't exist...then shows not showing how it impacts Sam directly to justify his bitching about it. His character never mentions his race or any one else, then suddenly it becomes the defining trait of his character. When you insert a super nazi group into your comicbook version of it you are deflecting the blame from the US government. This is not an apples to apples comparison. That is why this point fails. (and your rebuttal to mine.)
-The only ones who OUTRIGHT say it. You don't need to say something to mean it.
If no one else says it, then it's imaginary. That's exactly my point. Who else even implied it? Oh wait NO ONE because disney wants pander to SJWs while not actually making the case for why racism is happening. Unlike Captain Marvel which say what you will about it, they atleast show men actually being sexist or crappy toward her on screen("That's why they call it a cock-pit"one of the pilots showing obvious sexism.), making an argument ...mind you not a good one, but she's atleast got some receipts for her grievances. Sam just says America racist, and we're supposed to take his word on it as a fact despite nothing is shown in his life to be wronged solely due to his race. It's a fact in the writers of the show's mind because some bad things happen in the past there for we have to accept it in universe as an absolute, but it doesn't work as you need show not tell why someone feels something in film. There's never another point of view shown either.
-He was never given focus before this show.
Or may be it wasn't terribly important to his character. Does Captain America whine about how straight white and priviledged he is the entire time? Sam had enough going on that being black could just been a trait of his character without becoming the sole element of his story. The guy is a kick ass airman, and has awesome flight suit. He didn't seem to ever get stuck on race before, then suddenly some half ass writers get a hold of his character, that's only thing they can focus on. It's not as if we didn't have entire movie talking about race with Black Panther. The MCU has addressed it to some degree, but not every one who's not white needs be defined by their skin color. Sam definitely didn't. He was doing just fine prior. ua-cam.com/video/Q5D2RvIQwQE/v-deo.html
"Is that why John Walker wasn't given a 3-Dimensional characterization? Oh wait...."
John Walker doesn't address race in anything he does beyond the company he keeps. His actions are that of a soldier. Why he's a bad foil for this racial bit the show wants to bring in. John Walker is the least racist person despite how this show acts like he's terrible. Everyone around him is a minority, including his wife and his best friend. If he was actually being shown as a racist and why he felt Sam didn't deserve the shield , then it might had a leg to stand on. Instead Walker just makes Sam look like he's paranoid with how not racist he is.
No one ever chimes in to challenge anything Sam says head on. Like Bucky just rolls over and nods to whatever Sam says, as everything Sam says is treated an absolute truth. Zemo just reinforces what he says about Troubled man. No one says, Hey Sam you live in a country where black men are paid to millions of dollars to play sports, act, perform and one even became President. We've had black Generals and brain surgeons. It seems like there's plenty of room for Black people to do great things in this country, we could probably handle you being Captain America. Nope, everyone just listens to him complain, and never says anything to counter his statements. White people need to stay in their lane!
-Not really. He only mentions it once at the end.
No, he definitely mentions it several times through out the show. I refuse to rewatch it to make an exact count, but it's easily once a episode. Probably more, but we're comparing to it basically not being something he ever mentions.
-Was utterly gutless. It tried to say "A Guy who believes in the Confederates is okay"
No, that's a very controversial statement these days. Hell people wanna flay Tyler Perry for just saying don't hate the cops in his Oscar speech despite really shouldn't be anything controversial or unreasonable. It's a very bibical sentiment of love thy enemy. To show people there's a better way by being the bigger person. It's easy to say smite whomever disagrees. (The left loves that answer.)
One of the first thing they told us in basic training was you don't get to choose who you protect when I was in the Air force. If Canada invades Wisconsin, I don't just shrug and say let them have the cheeseheads because I'm from Chicago. That's not what I vowed...I vowed to defend this country against ALL ENEMIES..foreign and domestic. You have to protect even the people you disagree with or don't even like or this country comes apart. United we stand, divided we fall.
That was the point of the scene, not let's say it's okay wear a confedrate flag. While I personally don't have a negative view of it, since I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazard, so I have positive memories of the General Lee, I get why people negatively react when they see it. I respect both sides right to wear it and view it negatively. I mean I think people wearing che guevara is kinda disgusting since this guy killed alot of people, and promoted marxism. I'm not going physically assault anyone for wearing something I disagree with. Freedom of speech extends to even speech I don't like.
-FATWS had to guts to stand up to 20 years of American Brainwashing and say "Stop abusing the label of terrorist whenever anyone opposes you". Which is a far more important message than "Respect someone wearing the Confederate flag".
Oh please. If someone commits violence to push their idealogy, they are the textbook definition of terrorists. Karli and the flagsmashers were absolutely terrorist and deserved whatever wrath they got in the process. There was nothing they did that showed they were going to stop outside of death, as Sam opts to not fight her like a moron and nearly gets killed if Sharon Carter doesn't do exactly what he should have done. Some people only understand force, as anything else is just a waste of words. Karli was one of those people. Sam then martyrs someone who was terrible and acts a mouthpiece for her.
This just more leftist trash of controlling langugage. Don't call people breaking the law criminals despite the term fitting 100%. They want to call people who illegally cross the border dreamers. Shoving leftist bullshit down people's throats is not brave in the slightest. Editing words and erasing them is not freedom of speech. This 1984 orwellian style bullshit where you outlaw the words so people can't articulate a concept. No words should ever be banned.(Name an instance in history where the person advocating from censoring or burning books ever was the good guys in the story.) If you can control the language , you can control the narrative and ultimately the people. I refuse this false control as my words will not be compelled by leftist ideologues.

      Wow. Are you serious.
He literally sympathizes with the terrorists because they have it hard and aren't rich. He carries a murderer's corpse like it he's holding a fallen hero not minutes after that person would've torched an armored vehicle full of politicians.
THEN he goes on a moral diatribe about how the evil rich people need to do better and how they need to nebulously and magically make things better by 'doing better.'
To one of the people he had to SAVE.
"I’m a black man, carrying the stars and stripes. What don’t I understand? Every time I pick this thing up, I know there are millions of people out there who are going to hate me for it."
This man was on a team that was responsible for saving the entire UNIVERSE and had everything from giant green scientists to alien rodents and yet now. Now we're back to worrying about race.
      What a great character arc.
He's regressed. And if this video wasn't enough to prove it to you, don't worry, there'll be an efap stream soon.

It's amazing how over time things like sports and science naturally progress. Yet when it comes to storytelling, our ancestors were light years ahead of us

Have you ever actually read those stories. A lot of them are more rushed than this show. For instance, Hamlet.

They did it way better in the comics. Hell, they even let Bucky take the mantle for a while and that was pretty good too. The only people who had a problem with it were the die hards who hate any change whatsoever.
With the show, I can understand why Falcon becoming cap is generally disliked. They didn't execute it well.
