Mole is the most powerfull infernotower without a doubt. I only got 2 wins so far, one close win with Prismatower + full eco build for infusions and one Mole + Potion build^^
if mole and roots works like slime and any tower in front of it, the fan that gives +5/+5 each turn is actually good. it would buff the root towers before mole absorb them. this way the temporary +5/+5 becomes a permanent +10/+10 on the mole
Actually you could have taken the extra tower slot and put the portal in that spot immediately to make sure you were making use of the space, and that would allow for another tower in the back later like second bear or reroll.
With something like a flower/obsidian, or root/mole the milk/cat token combo, or even something like mosquito or Cerberus with multipliers to output, is endgame scaling, the small buff per turn doesn't keep up outside of early game for most things, but when that buff is multiplied or propagated you can hit some absurd numbers. Root/Mole is definitely the most straightforward inferno strategy, but if you don't make the classic mistake of sacrificing the HP on your Cerberus tower and build it up instead, multiple hits per attack is wild scaling. It's the tower that benefits the most from defensive upgrades, rations, milk, annoyance tokens, you can do some wild stuff with it. Even just going full eco and dumping absurd mana into it is worthwhile. Early on you don't "need" the HP as much and drop a tower behind it that sacrifices HP for raw damage, and it looks good - but then it gets one shot and doesn't stand up at all in later rounds. That trade is only worth it for glutton/ration, if you just don't see any high damage scaling towers, and even then... pretty sketch xD Maybe if you portal into a mosquito strat it'd be worth, rely on annoyance rather than HP to tank. Honestly it'd be a better fit for the Royal set.
9:20 you can invest your mana into one side but should upgrade them simultaneously to get the stat benefits of higher tiers earlier. Not sure how the tokens play into this tho
the greedy way to really make the Bear good, was to take the builder token. so that you make your Bear level 2 and he gets thé bonus frim both Roots. the builder token was really good if you are lucky
I can't imagine two roots is ever the play, anything you'd do to buff the 2nd root coulda just gone on the first one, there's a small upside, for example when you upgrade the second tower to level 2, the first tower would only be 2/3 of the way to leveling up for the statistical upgrade. It's just ethical gaming, opting into 2 fewer tower slots xD If you gamble on finding a mole and your root gets out of control early game, deleting the mid root and dropping a mole into the center to leverage the unluck slightly. Or if you're Portal towering into something that buffs the whole crew I suppose? But no chance you get portal, frog, princess, witch, to get whole team buffs like that. The Bear payoff is just - better, for a Portal strat. Imagine having 1 portal tower 1 bear, 2 roots and a mole, every turn you eat a good root, a bad root, once the bear is level 2 it gets credit for both eats but until then it might be eating the bad one only. Or it might only eat the good one with the mole best case. Alternatively imagine having 1 portal, 3 bears, a mole, empty root slot and a root up front. All 3 bears eat with your mole. Way better scaling. 1 root strategies also benefit more from the occasional statistical upgrade token you come across while clearing bosses. At least in this version the roots aren't RNG, they try to spread left before spreading right, so if the mole is always eating you don't have to worry about it taking your bonus slot. The extra slot opens up some interesting strategies with your portal setup, maybe a butler, or go for a bee and drop honey on your root, or just a rations tower to scale HP a bit harder. This tower set is high skill cap again, but super interesting. Portal conceptually is a busted thing xD All the possibility of Inferno and dipping into Royal strats as well.
9:47 you were saying something about "that one friend" who is mind numbingly brain freezey? Bro lives in a place where 56 months = "a year" 😂 very long years my friend. Here on earth, our year only has about 12
did you try Iron tower/snake build ? bunch of HP plus poison could be good. also this setup could be nice to support a royal tower build, actually givong a bunch of HP to your tower, as glass only gives dmg i think it's not even worth it cause you dont want to get one-shot
Yea but it is more so to showcase that it is a building block now for future runs / endless runs! So when the game DOES hit and an endless scaling mode hits, the bear will be perfect

There's still so much to do with all of this honestly and I'm ready to see the new towers to get mega gaming
