  • Too many archers, due to the performance today's bow and arrow combinations are capable of, want to immediately start shooting at longer distances. They take a few close-range shots, select or print a sight tape and jump back to yardages of 80, 90 and 100. This is a mistake. Archery is a close-range game, and while I love shooting arrows at distance, I build my confidence and learn my equipment by shooting arrow after arrow at 20, 30 and 40 yards. Not only does this allow you the ability to fine-tune your sight tape and get it just right, but close-distance shooting builds confidence in your ability and in your gear.
