@@mikestarcher Thanks. I currently have one Gravely project tractor in the garage, watching a runner to buy, and a few Gravely project tractors in storage. PaulL
I've had several of these both 100 and 200 series, but many with variator issues so I am selling most of them off and moving on. Somebody seriously needs to come up with a way to rebuild the variators
So this video came out two days after I bought my 82 212 for $200 but I think I got one heck of a deal. It runs and drives and everything works. The paint is a little faded but there is no rust on it. I can't really find anything on it that needs any work. It didn't come with any attachemtents or a deck but I wasn't looking for a machine to mow with I have two of those already. Mine is a manual lift with electric PTO, still has the original seat with a small tear on the side. I also prefer gear drives even though my main mowing machine is a Cub Cadet hydro.
Hey man I’m having some issues with my 216 I recently acquired do you have a few minutes to take some pictures of the variable speed drive system? I’ve got the manuals but it only does so much in showing it I tried watching ManiacMower go through his 212 but didn’t really learn much thanks in advance!
@@mikestarcher just swapped the trans and the variable speed lever need be replaced it’s in bad shape but it’s like it won’t engage when watching John’s video when he moved the lever it moved the clutch pedal and mine ain’t doing that so it might be out of adjustment
@@mikestarcher ok it seems like it’s slipping on the belt but the variator seems tight I’ve got to pull the engine yet to mount a starter will put it on its side and see what I can come up with
Thanks. Great information. I have Gravelys and Craftsmans and would like to have a JD 212 in my fleet some day. PaulL
I still have several 200 series to sell

Yeah that does sound like a pretty good deal.
Any chance you have a sleeve hitch for a 212 you want to sell? I'd like to get a plow for mine, I'm also in ohio.
@@outspokengenius nope
Ive been looking for a JD lawn tractor. What do you think is the best overall series?
@MikeBee3 depends what your doing, I suggest a garden tractor though not a lawn tractor.
Very informative video! Still hunting for a 200 series. Have a few 300s and 100 series which are excellent tractors
I'll sell u a few
Thanks for showing us this this was really informational
Sure thing. Thanks for watching
