Ahrex - Ragdolly - tied by Andreas Andersson

  • Ragdolly - which is one of Andreas Andersson’s most popular streamer flies - is tied with a deer hair head that is cut flat on sides, top and bottom. That style of head enables the current to grip it - and add life to the whole fly. Most of the time Andreas fish Ragdolly on a sinking line or, occasionally, on a sink tip.

This is one masterfully tied bug. The color blends and methodical attention to details are nothing short of incredible.

Every part of this fly is masterfully tied. You seem to have no weaknesses in your game. Craft fur, hackle, marabou, deer hair, etc. all do your bidding without fighting you. You have the magic touch.

Awesome tying! Equally awesome is the work of Jensen & Halkjaer! Thanks Ahrex!

The white and brown material is craft fur? How is it so long?

Eric, I’ve used craft fur from fabric/craft stores (because it’s pretty cheap) but found it to be too short for streamers this size. Fly shop craft fur you’ll find is long enough, premium craft fur is how it’s marketed, more pricey but good stuff. AA noted that he gets his from Rainey’s on one of his other videos.

Basically they prevent the tail section to get caught in the front hook, but they can also produce some clicking sound when retrived
