BYD Seagull will cost between 11,500 and 14,500 dollars in China (80,000 to 100,000 CNY), and obviously it will be more expensive in other markets.
Also, initially it will be sold with lithium batteries since sodium ones are still being developed by BYD, as we will see in a very few days at Auto Shanghai.
In addition, the instrument panel of the Seagull is quite different from that of the Dolphin. It does not have round air vents (at 4:15 you are showing Dolphin's dashboard), they are rather rectangular and in general, the horizontal lines of the panel are much straighter than those of the Dolphin.

They say sodium battery can be charged very very quicky in couple of minutes but doesn't have a long battery life. However many Chinese Electric car company provide the facility such that if you are the 1st owner you do not need to pay for the new battery and the next new battery. Keeping that in mind, sodium battery sounds more convenient.

@@DimitarBerberu Redundant since you are still burning mostly coal or natural gas to generate the electricity needed to charge your electric car very little of it is from renewable energy sources.
I do not see the grass on the side of the road dying because of continuous traffic, a lithium mine not so much.
Sorry the demand on the energy grid alone will eliminate the green wet dream of the banning of all fossil fuels vehicles not unless we bump up the capacity maybe a hundred times or more over.
Electric vehicles still come across as a solution in search of a problem rather than the other way around or a novelty for wealthy/tech people. Now as batteries for grid/home power storage that is another story entirely.

Tata should start to think out of the box and become very agressive as regards to ev segment, gone are the days where the automobile industry thinking of doing things and implementing with ease as being in practice till date rather, should think of 10x times larger as 20 k bookings already happened for Tiago ev, it's almost a quarter over but deliveries could not be completed as far as Chinese companies are concerned they would have ramped up to 10x scale for the same, byd understood the success of it... Will come up rapidly in that segment developed by exclusive Tatas cream would be enjoyed by them...Similarly,
Tesla when got orders for model 3 for 3Lakhs vehicles online...even after years of time could not supply so they decided to shift the products manufacturing to china that's why they are able to sell 4million vehicles globally with multiple Giga factories across the globe...let's hope tata also think in that large Giga scale and become competitor to Tesla otherwise all efforts would be gone in vain...
Hope Tata to setup two different Giga factories for Tiago and Nexon platform having IRDA press machines and to minimise the body parts...wake up Tatas lead the race...it's now or never otherwise.

A very annoying breathless and hyped advertorial style presentation. The revolutionary thing about this vehicle is its Na-ion battery, which if it works in this car, could work in any car. With luck, Na-ion batteries will supplant Li-ion and Li-FeP in most lower cost BEVs. It's not just the Li, but the associated Co and Ni needs. Li-FeP use just Li. The presentation is a bit confusing as the car can be supplied with both types of battery. However 300 kms with the Na-ion battery is actually a very adequate range for any "city car" but in fact for most other uses as well, depending on charging speed. My own car doesn't even manage much over 200 kms (an older Nissan Leaf) but has proven perfectly sufficient.

Well, will car make it to the US at $9000? This should kill Tesla. There is a quiet war going on between EVs and hydrogen vehicles. Plus the existing auto industry doesn't want EVs because it will put them out of business. An EV is cheaper to own and doesn't need the same repairs. Now if a vehicle could be made for the public this would be Troy Reed's magnetic motor that for a few thousand dollars would convert the average existing vehicles this saving the public all kinds of money which the auto industry doesn't want to do. A magnetic motor doesn't need gasoline or batteries. You haven't heard a word about Troy Reed's magnetic motor. They have either bought him off or killed him. They do not want to give the public cheap transportation. With a medium income in the US of $31,000 I don't see where the high priced EVs will be sold to the public. I'd like to know what's going on with gasoline vehicles, because I know that GM and Ford have motors which can get much better mpg? The public doesn't have the money to pay more for anything. If the far left is trying commit suicide they are sure doing a good job of it.
