- We’ve all heard it before, if you’re a Christian make sure to be “equally yoked” and only date another Christian. But how many of you know, just because they are a “Christian” does not mean they are right for you to date.
So today, join Ronnie and Mel as they give you their best Christian dating advice on what to look for in a guy or what to look for in a girl. You want to make sure that you make the right choices when choosing the kind of person to date of the opposite gender, because eventually they may become your boyfriend or girlfriend or maybe even your husband or wife. And you want to have wisdom and some non-negotiables going into those relationship situations to avoid any unnecessary heartbreak, or worse, a falling away from your faith.
So let's jump in and make sure you can spot if someone is truly a man of God or a woman of God and walking with Jesus in their life.

Ronnie and Mel. Is there such a barrier as age between two Christians dating in their older age, for example, a 54 year old female and a 39 year old male, both divorced but seeking dating in JESUS CHRIST. Literally, I’m blown away. Not sure 🤔 that age matters after two people have already done things ‘in the world’ and now want to date to honor and please the Father. However, the world 🌍 would say that this big age difference is a bit much.
Please take to the LORD and answer when He speaks to you about this. Amen 🙏

I agree we should know the character of the Messiah, in Hebrew culture (which the messiah was) a name was something that would reflect someone's nature, for example, Mattithyahu (changed to Matthew) means ”Gift of Yah” (𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 is the name of the most high found in the dead sea scrolls, on the tablets and pillars at the real Sinai where Moses went after fleeing Egypt, it would be pronounced Yah-oo-ah and some write it as Yahuah) so Mattithyahu’s character (as by Hebrew custom) was he was a gift from the most high. Now with that in mind, we can learn the essence of the messiah by learning his name, his real name and that will help you genuinely understand the messiah. I pray this blesses you to find truth through the all mighty and his blemishless son.

Staying pure is huge!! I found myself in a relationship with a fellow believer and when we agreed to be in a relationship and save ourselves for marriage, the sexual part started coming out on his end. One night he said, "we can do it and pray it off." I replied "that is not how it works" and things ended shortly after that. Wolf in sheep's clothing. Thank you for confirming. God Bless you!! 💗

I think this is really important and huge issue. Almost impossible meeting non Christians of course.
Even if one made mistake in the past. I think we need to try really hard to fight over sin and live of a life of glory. The willingness!
Being 31 years old I can identify with Mel..one of the hardest thing I have had to do with the singleness season am in is to say NO to good and to wait on Godly.

This is 100% on point. One piece of advice I'd give young people of courting age is do not give away your affections until you know that person is a good match for you. Do not base your relationship on feelings. Feelings can change. Base your relationship on principles. Chemistry is important too, but don't put the cart before the horse.

Thank you for this video! Just wanted to add what qualities I looked for in a man besides loving God and having a relationship with Him:
•Empathy
•Integrity
•Honesty
•Kindness
•Emotional generosity
•Want the same things in life and have similar core values (God, marriage, children)
So in my case, God blessed me with an amazing man who will make a great husband and father. He’s a pastor’s kid as I am, so we come from the same background, just different stories of course. At first I was hesitant to even go on a date with him because I was still healing from a breakup from a long term relationship (got cheated on), and plus he wasn’t my “type” (us women can have some unrealistic standards😂). Long story short, he’s now my boyfriend and we both serve God, and we both want the same things in life which is serve God, get married and raise a family together. Give people a chance that you normally won’t and you’ll see that they can surprise you. He was the man I prayed for. The man of your prayers is better than the man of your dreams.

Wow this video is so true... I just ended a relationship with a guy that met all of my expectations but I still didn't feel peace about it. And he wasn't a bad guy or anything but it just didn't work out.
Another tip is to pray constantly and ask the Holy Spirit to give you peace over the relationship. Trust me, He will show you.

Some people judge me for wanting a man who is passionate and on fire for Jesus, who is a man after his own heart. They claim just because he doesn't talk about him, doesn't mean he doesn't love him. Wow I can really really relate eith you. That is also what I desire but people tell me that this isn't what's most important and that spiritual life and family life are two separate things and it makes me frustrated to make a decision regarding this.

It true about purity, I always rushed my relationships without getting to know them 1st and what they are all about....I lost my partner of 3 yrs a few yrs back and now...Now I want to meet someone who is in touch with themselves and most importantly have a good relationship with God....I just turn 48...I know God has spmeone for me...❤🙌

What a timely reminder. I am in my last year of college and have been struggling with singleness for a while. Before college I told God that I would stay single and serve Him wholeheartedly until He tells me that I am ready to enter into a relationship. However, when I entered college, the temptation was real. It starts to get harder when friends around me are attached or are getting married. After listening to your testimonies and advice, it helped me to redirect my thoughts and started praying for that future husband.
The Lord gets more n more amazing everyday as to what I can learn from me
No one ever taught me about relationships growing up.i clearly remember an ex girlfriend calling our being together a "relationship ".I didnt even know they were called that.
No one taught me how to be a man properly not even my Dad
I'm 50 now with 2 broken families n multiple ex 's in my past and 4 grown children and 2 grandkids that I still see and live dearly
I'm alone but born again and wondering is this all there is for me now?

The advice in this video really shocked me beyond anything. It is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. It’s crazy how many of our parents don’t even know how to give advice like this. I love this channel so much, it’s almost an oasis to come to when things feel off course. I’m at a dating season in my life right now and wow is it scary. After watching this, I have peace in my heart.

Great video and I learned so much. I agree with you on all accounts. There are so many variables that play out in the dating life. And everyone is on their own journey. I just seek basic friendship first. Then go from there. And that is what dating is for. It is to learn and grow. I just need to embrace this season of my life. Thanks for sharing.

After many short term relationships, the Lord challenged me to not get involved emotionally before I got to know a guy as a good friend. Long story short, I soon met a wonderful man of God and have been married to him for 35 years. Purity pays off. We still enjoy a wonderful friendship and intimate relationship. I am so encouraged by your story and example. You are a great testimony to the grace of God and the wisdom of the word of God.

I miss the old intro love that music lol. Great video! The equally yoked thing is huge, just because both of you are christians doesn't mean you're equally yoked. I love a girl who can quote scripture and who stays in the word. If you're talking to someone more than 10mins and they don't bring up their faith it might be a red flag. You want someone who all they talk about is their faith and Jesus. The leader thing for a guy is soooo important as well. You do see so many women choosing guys whose spiritual walk is sooo far behind theirs. Ladies you don't want to be with a guy you can't see leading you.

I totally agree!I’m currently talking with this one guy that is 2 years younger.I find myself always bringing up scripture and leading to the point I feel more spiritually mature than he is lol like the man in the relationship.We do agree on most things but I feel I bring up most of the faith based conversations.

This video was very wonderful. I think as Christians we need to have a strong relationship with God and seek covering from the pastors of our local church to gain guidance and wisdom in every area of our life. And videos like this one that are firmly grounded in the truths of God add to the richness of counsel in our lives. Thank you for making this video and sharing these fundamental truths. I have always had high expectations and standards but I notice that they might not have been entirely grounded in God's word. I think that the point about knowing Christ is so critical because, as you said, it will allow us to recognize Christ in others.

Thank you for this video. I decided to take 6 months off of dating to pursue the Lord first and foremost. I’ve been nothing but frustrated when it comes to dating. I’m praying God brings a man to pursue me in His timing. It’s difficult, but I’m sure it will be worth it

Yes laying down one's life is huge... but someone who can make sacrifice for others is so important for marriage, for true love. Actually even non Christians can do that for others, but they don't know grace of God. Thank you for sharing this.

I live in Boston Ma and I wish I had someone like you Mel to help me and guide me-go to church together-get coffee- read the bible etc Our stories are extremely similar.
This makes a lot of sense. I tried dating someone with different beliefs & that was not it! I love the Lord way too much to stay silent for the sake of a relationship..
As a single mom I learned a lot from this video at 24! Thank you. ❤❤ I've always had trouble with dating unbelievers. I used to not care that they didn't believe in God and that I could change them but now that I see this video it helps a lot to think about who God will place in my life!
