Two Gold Wing owner in town each have over 600,000 miles on their Wings without every cracking open the case. Try that on any other bike. What this guy is pointing out is that Honda has not only thought outside the box but also gone outside the box. The rest of motorcycling can wallow in tradition. I just bought a 2016 Wing. It is amazing
Excellent! My bike is not a GW but is a Honda. I was hoping to remain in the arena of Hondas when it comes to ownership. But lately I was looking towards getting something somewhat of a cross breed bike, a sport touring type. I admire and accept everything about the GWs based on everything I've heard so far, except a possible flaw concerning the placement of the left foot peg on the 2015 models. It interferes with deep leaning left of the bike where the foot gear actually drags the ground. I am not an exceptional rider by any means but I've adopted a policy riding "paranoid" in order to stay aware of any and everything going on around me. That would definitely interfere with my mental awareness and preparedness.
Oh please, I love the Honda flat 6 engine, but the record is something like 425,000 miles, and all of a sudden you know not one but TWO people with over 600,000 miles on their bikes....pure BS.
The Honda Goldwing has more features and amenities and smoother ride than most Honda automobiles. well understandably, Honda was originally a Motorcycle company.
So, a couple things. You're dead-on about the floorboards. The Wing sits too upright for them to work, and are unnecessary given the highway peg options available (I strongly recommend the RIVCO pegs that mount seamlessly to the valve covers and are positioned perfectly). Secondly, the Wing is not the Cadillac of motorcycles, it's the Lexus. Cadillacs have both design and engineering flaws, and the company needed government assistance to remain solvent. Ergo, HD is the Cadillac of motorcycles.
After owning Harleys for over 30 years I traded my 2013 Road Glide Custom for a 2013 F6B, because the heat was unbearable, and there is no comparison. The F6B's ride, handling, performance, maintenance, quickness, RELIABILITY are so much more superior to any Harley I ever had with 2 radiators and 2 high speed fans it is cool as a cucumber in summer in traffic. Unlike Harley Honda designed the fans to blow out away from you and not rise up into legs, crotch and everything else North. This thing is a bullet and I took it cross country in 2015 effortlessly, it was like riding a road sofa. I will NEVER buy an air cooled bike again and my F6B was totaled in March but I will replace it. Example: break in maintenance on the Harley @ 500 miles, break in maintenance on the F6B @ 5000 miles. No-brainer
A Road King compared to a Goldwing? I had a 2004 Road King and after 60,000 miles she started showing her age. There is no bike on the road that has more maintenance free miles than the Goldwing. These things just start breaking in at 100,000.

The weight has almost nothing to do with it. It's all so low that you don't feel it. The 900 pound goldwing feels lighter and is easier to control than my 360 pound Xr650l. My GoldWing rocked! A neck injury won’t let me wear a helmet for more than 30 minutes so had to sell mine! 2014 had electronic cruise that works better than most cars! They handle like a 600 cc sport bike above 5 mph!
The Gold Wing was ahead of its time because it served a more discerning demographic. As the benefits of the smoother engine & ride and creature comforts became more appreciated and spread to other bikes, motorcycles became more attractive to a wider audience. Remember the ad, 'You meet the nicest people on a Honda.'? Honda, then as now, was all about widening the audience and bringing more people into motorcycling.
I am still enjoying my 1984 Honda GL 1200 Standard (no fairing or factory bags) because it is still a plain old 4 cylinder motorcycle. I had a full dress 2010 awing and it was Way too heavy. However I’m glad that there is such a wide variety of choice in motorcycle style, design, performance, engine configuration and cost.
Literally, no where can I find a bad review on any GoldWing. Next weekend I'm planning on picking up my first, a 1999 GL1500 SL with 75000 miles, two tone red full touring package, for the amazing low price of $3250. I will be the 3rd owner. Current owners don't want to ride anymore, and need garage space. Impeccibly maintained and garaged. Pictures look mint. Wish me luck. Just found out GL = Grand Luxury...teehee. I just retired and this will be my 9th bike in my life to include my first love, a RUPP mini bike at age 10.🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍 ?🏍
I think it started before the Goldwing, after all they broke into the American market with the slogan “ You meet the nicest people on a Honda.” Even their first bikes were styled for a different rider. I’ve owned Harleys, Suzuki, Urals and currently on a Honda Goldwing tour. It really is a Cadillac of bikes.
but when all the Harleys disappear from the planet, their lovely apparel line will rock on. i love wearing a Harley t-shirt while cruising my vtx1800n in 117F in phoenix. Harleys do not live to long here.
If you had a twin, it vibrated, it had issues, it would brake down, you´d have to push it, it would leak oil on your shoes. It was cool people loved it.... And then along comes Honda Goldwind... a bike that rides like a cadillac, that can run like a racecar. The Goldwing riders brag about how many miles a day they can ride, there is zero vibration, just like a rolls royce. They ruined motorcycles ...
It's weird on a goldwing tho, they have such an upright sitting position. I like the boards on my Kawa but it has a forward position so it makes more sense.
I would love to know your opinion on how the F6b compares to the Yamaha FJR 1300. I have a F6b but not sure if id like something a bit more sporty. Just curious on your thoughts. Thanks
Fun video, good commentary, couple things I would definitely change on that bike that you're riding, absolutely get a madstad windshield the buffeting behind that windshield has got to be crazy at speed. But you won't notice how much buffeting you have on that windshield until you get a mad stad! And please don't try to make this into a cruiser, and take off those floor boards! LOL I prefer the OEM pegs over, anything out there! Oh and just one more Imo, the lower passenger backrest looks much better, my wife said it took some getting used to but she's very comfortable now back there, almost like lumbar support, LOL
Had the chance to borrow one of these F6Bs from Honda Canada. Hated riding it in downtown Toronto traffic. Like flying on a cloud when you're free of gridlock though.
Why are all factory built touring bikes so massive? Back in 1983 I purchased a Honda GL500 Silverwing, and enjoyed it a lot. I could have purchased a GoldWing but the size of them did not appeal to me. They are even larger today. Back a few years ago I wanted a similar bike to my old Silverwing that I rode until I wore it out. I found a very low milage Honda VLX600 and fitted it with 70's era Vetter Windjammer 4 Fairing, Vetter Hard Saddlebags, and Vetter Trunk. I love it! If anyone built anything similar I would buy one but the trend is to build them ever larger. One would think that the popularity of small bikes like the Honda Grom and Kawasaki Z125 would clue them into realizing the move to smaller bikes instead of two wheel open cars.
I've toured on a GPZ 750, VX800, GS1000G, and now a BMW 850r. The middleweights are underrated. If I wanted a Goldwing, I'd buy a used Civic and be even more comfortable.
Try actually riding one instead of dismissing it based on looks and preconceived biases. It is that big for a several reasons. 1. It is designed for maximum comfort for two people. Not just for a driver and a passenger crammed onto whatever room is left on the back. That takes space. 2. The engine is massive and requires space. Why would you compare a 750 to an 1800 and complain about size? 3. Cargo. Cargo for days. These are meant to take two people across the country or around the world and keep all the cargo safe and dry while doing so. Again, that requires space. 4. Performance. Ride a goldwing. Sure it may be 900 pounds, but I promise you it doesn't feel like it. It handles easier than my xr650l and is extremely stable in corners and confidence inspiring. It just feels like a much lighter bike while you are on the road. You almost can't believe how light it feels at first. That's because that huge engine sits very low, which requires space. Also, the wheel base plays a big role is the amazing handling and stability as well. 5. Try one. All your questions will be answered by the ride.
Hi Shawn, love your reviews. One comment , I am 5’8”. and have knee issues. I need the foreword controls. I did not purchase a Goldwing because of the riding position. Had to go with an Ultra Classic. Anyway, I am glad to see footboards.
When you grow up... maybe you'll learn to open your mind, instead of your mouth. I don't own a goldwing, however, I would definitely have one before any HD. That being said, I like HD as well. Right now, there's only one horse in my garage, so it's got to be a Sport Touring bike.
bicdaddy I like all motorcycles and am very open to all of them. I LOVE the old goldwings. However, the DCT new goldwing is not a motorcycle. It is a minivan. Its not a motorcycle. Thats why I dislike it.
Science Militia1 obviously your opinion is just that, and I’m sure you aren’t alone in the thought process here. Personally, innovation is a great thing, and for Honda to be on the forefront of it, is really great. The goldwing has always been an amazing comfort cruiser... and more amenities just makes it that much more appealing. The DCT can also be fitted with a shifter (for an optional $5-600) for those that want that old school feeling. As with anything new and innovative, just give it time. It’ll either grow on riders and take off with other manufacturers, or it’ll stay exclusive to the HGW.
Ok it’s been bugging me for for about a year now on your videos. Dude you gotta pop a lifesaver in or something before you motovid. That dry mouth tongue clicking is driving me nuts!!! Lol Great videos I love them.
I’m very short at 5’2” and I think I would be fine on the Valkyrie, which I have been able to sit on. Is the seat height and reach to the ground the same on the F6B? I think it is.
Brian Marty ...at 5'5"...the new generation valkyrie is a stretch for me...with hiking boots flatfoot....tennis shoes...not so flatfoot...i think a company named lower wing makes a kit for us...
Ahh my 5 foot people. Was wondering too, I'm 5'4, can i fit the F6B? 800mm and above seat heights made me feel like not owning a motorcycle other than cruisers but owned a a Benelli 25, Benelli Leoncino 500 which has seat heights over 800mm.
Those are aftermarket floors and shield, so there’s that. The best shield for that is the madstad. I have a ‘15. Where the hells are this dude’s gloves?!?
I don't get it. My 96 Goldwing has cruise control! Anyway, Honda revolutionized motorcycles by making everything "built in", not bolted, clamped on or zip tied like a Harley Davidson. Both are great bikes so don't get me wrong. The '18 and newer Goldwing has been seriously updated with the dct but, still no platforms for the driver. The trunks are smaller and trying to put gas in it is a pain. Keeping my '96 Goldwing.
I had one (2014) ...too low geared for me, and seat was too high and wide for comfort/reach for a 30" inseam person.. There is virtually no vibration on Yamaha's 1300 v-twin either...
If you are a big guy and you have a wife who wants to ride pillion with you and you also want to go camping and take gear with you what choices do you have ??? You need a big strong powerful comfortable bike. It doesn't mean you can't have other bikes to blast round on. All bikes have limitations...........
The best thing about the Goldwing is that it's not a Harley. There is no need to dress like a gay pirate in your little black leather outfit. Those Harley riders just crack me up. Mild mannered store clerk during the week and an extra in a Gimp porn movie on the weekends. Silly bastards.

I agree with the floorboard complaint, I have a 1992 GL1500 Aspencade. Foot pegs allow you to move your feet around a bit.
I think the Valkyrie is awesome and I’m waiting for one in my price range
I have the exact same bike , just got a 2014 F6B and keeping both . The 38 years old lady still rides smooth as glass
Goldwing is a game changer and its a good thing
A heel toe shifter may help with the floor board situation atleast for shifting
Own an 85 1200 but that smooth 6 cylinder sound is awesome
I just love my Goldwing !
I love this bike. Wow. Loving its turning ability.
Thank You! You have helped me make a decision....I'm buying!!
but when all the Harleys disappear from the planet, their lovely apparel line will rock on. i love wearing a Harley t-shirt while cruising my vtx1800n in 117F in phoenix. Harleys do not live to long here.
Seek first The Kingdom! Wonderful way to start the video.
I always wanted this bike, but I settled on a 84 vt700 turned into a scrambler style.
Is that the factory exhaust? It sounds great
If you had a twin, it vibrated, it had issues, it would brake down, you´d have to push it, it would leak oil on your shoes. It was cool people loved it.... And then along comes Honda Goldwind... a bike that rides like a cadillac, that can run like a racecar. The Goldwing riders brag about how many miles a day they can ride, there is zero vibration, just like a rolls royce. They ruined motorcycles ...
I’m 5”8”” I like floorboards with the hill toe shift
It's weird on a goldwing tho, they have such an upright sitting position. I like the boards on my Kawa but it has a forward position so it makes more sense.
I love the sound of that bike...
I didn't realize it made any sound......... Yes it does have a somewhat pleasing noise, but it's not the sound of a motorcycle, to me anyway.
Honda found a niche, the Caddalic of motorcycles.
Goldwing, the first with airbag, the first with Reverse, The first with Airconditioning, the first with infotainment systems.
No. Theyre the MINIVAN of motorcycles.
ValhalaFiveSix JUST LIKE A GOD DAMNED MINIVAN.
LOL
Science Militia1, I’ll race you. My wing will take the twisties like a sport tourer and it’s a 2006.
I have 1986 goldwing and I love it.
Love Valkyrie even more! Lighter frame better looks
I agree ended up with 15 Honda Valkyrie after going through many Harley-Davidsons a few times wish I had the ball Curry from the get-go
My 96 goldwing is beyond smooth. Honda always nocks it out of the part with big bikes
I remember getting a postcard from the local Honda dealership in 2015; new 2013 Fb6 for $12,900. Almost checked it out!
I would love to know your opinion on how the F6b compares to the Yamaha FJR 1300. I have a F6b but not sure if id like something a bit more sporty. Just curious on your thoughts. Thanks
Nothings been ruined let them build them anyway they want
Fun video, good commentary, couple things I would definitely change on that bike that you're riding, absolutely get a madstad windshield the buffeting behind that windshield has got to be crazy at speed. But you won't notice how much buffeting you have on that windshield until you get a mad stad! And please don't try to make this into a cruiser, and take off those floor boards! LOL I prefer the OEM pegs over, anything out there! Oh and just one more Imo, the lower passenger backrest looks much better, my wife said it took some getting used to but she's very comfortable now back there, almost like lumbar support, LOL
Floorboards turn the F6B from one of the coolest bikes ever made to a giant scooter lmao
Had the chance to borrow one of these F6Bs from Honda Canada. Hated riding it in downtown Toronto traffic. Like flying on a cloud when you're free of gridlock though.
Hey I enjoyed your audio and video. Can you please share your setup?
In 1978 it looked like a motorcycle. There was always a WINDJAMMER if you felt you needed it. AHHHH. The good ‘ol days!!!!!!! RIDE SAFE!!!!!!!
I prefer riding my 2013 f6b over my 2011 harley ultra. Only similarity is they both have 2 wheels.
Love the Bible verses you throw into your test rides.
I remember that many of the 2013’s had some paint issues.
I want so bad perfect color to I’m done with Harley’s
My old mans got one, its a nice bike. Im too big for it though, handlebar on a tight turn hits my knee
Look at 2018 wing they are much smaller
Because not all of us are the same. I like my 900 lb Harley, I like this Goldwing too.
What’s the difference between this and the 2014 Valkyrie?
I wish you could do a video on that water cooled 6 cylinder Kawasaki that was meant to compete with the Goldwing.
Its A Honda 👍🏾👊🏾😎
Sean im 6-4, 34 inseam, will the f6b fit me?
I don't know how I feel about the floor broads either. LOL
Although I wish they would bring back the silver wing in a 750 that would be awesome
How much did this one sell for? I think I need a nice clean 2013....
Hi Shawn, love your reviews. One comment , I am 5’8”. and have knee issues. I need the foreword controls. I did not purchase a Goldwing because of the riding position. Had to go with an Ultra Classic. Anyway, I am glad to see footboards.
No substance; just rambles; just loves every bike he rides...LOL.
Not to get off topic but what’d you take on the victory vision?
Goldwing-Industry Standard...
Right about that Mike.
...for geriatrics who dont actually like motorcycle riding. Just drive your miniva . Same thing as a goldwing.
Had one loved it
I guess I’m an oddball because I could see myself owning one of the new Goldwing DCT as well as a 2022 road glide
I love the wing, hey could you help me out finding someone to work on mine,no one works on older bikes
Why is it every time I look on the website for the bike you are on it is never there?
love the f6 bagger i think the problem people have with gold wings is there size they think they wiegh 2000 pounds
Ok it’s been bugging me for for about a year now on your videos.
Dude you gotta pop a lifesaver in or something before you motovid.
That dry mouth tongue clicking is driving me nuts!!!
Lol
Great videos I love them.
Is it for sale? Don't see it on you website
I live in the middle of nowhere...the nearest city is 140kms away...all open road....this would be great....trade in my zx14r and old cruiser....
I like the Kawasaki vaquero more. But I d enjoy the quietness a bit.
Does anyone want to talk about the great side mirror placement?
Lol I’m 39 yrs old and I want a Goldwing! I want to travel long distance and what better way to do so!
Looks like riding a cloud I'm going to get one when I hit my 50-60s
He said test 'drove' 🤔...IM OUT!! AGAIN MFS!! U DONT DRIVE $HIT WITH BARS MFS!! U RIDE IT!! FCKIN GREENHORNS 😂
