- Ciao a tutti! Join me for a day in my life in Bologna. I speak Italian during this vlog and added English subtitles. Even though I'm speaking Italian, I know I've made a bunch of mistakes (I noticed them later when editing haha) so for those of you also studying Italian, don't assume everything I say is grammatically correct! 😅 In this video I do some studying, do some paperwork for my permit to stay, do some shopping for Christmas decorations, and make lots of food (LOL). 'Di solito' has stuck in my mind since I'm fully learning Italian on my own. I'm not scared at the grammar anymore.
I see you're learning the ropes of being italian:
- accepting the endless waits at the Post Office
- accepting even though there's a form to fill and that should be it, officers may have conflicting views on how to fill it
- complaining about DST during winter time

I'm Spanish. I have never studied Italian and I am studying English for almost 5 years but I understand better when you speak Italian. Spanish and Italian are very similar and you speak Italian very well. I like Italian, for me is the most beautiful language.

ciao Shea! Mi fa piacere che tu sia a Bologna, la città dove sono nato e dove vivo. Io ho un livello b1 di inglese ma faccio ancora molta fatica a parlarlo e a scriverlo... Putroppo non conosco nessuno con cui praticarlo quindi mi sono imposto di iniziare a guardarmi una serie. Ho scelto Grey's Anathomy dato che sto studiando per entrare in infermieristica, così per restare motivato ahaha. Ho provato a guardare un episodio in lingua originale con i sottotitoli ma dopo 10 minuti mi perdo e di conseguenza mi annoio... Allora proverò così: mi guardo una puntata in italiano (con i sottotitoli in inglese) e una in inglese con i sottotitoli sempre in inglese, spero di non impazzire ma partire tutto in inglese non mi sento pronto... Le stagioni sono 18 quindi diciamo che parto con calma
Ciao! Piacere :) Si, quello sembra meglio! Quando ho iniziato a guardare serie TV in italiano, ho usato sototitoli in inglese, altrimenti era troppo difficile. Ma uno con i sottotitoli in inglese e uno in italiano sembra una buona idea. Provalo :) Quella serie è probabilmente un po' complicato anche in inglese, quindi non preoccuparti, ce la fai!

Noi italiani pronunciamo hamburger come hambùrger perché la maggior parte delle parole italiane sono piane (ovvero l'accento cade sulla penultima sillaba) e avendo preso in prestito questa parola l'abbiamo, diciamo così, "italianizzata". Per voi americani i sostantivi solitamente hanno lo stress sulla prima sillaba e così questa stessa parola suona decisamente diversa secondo chi la pronuncia. Ed è vero: tutto molto buffo da ascoltare!
Ciao Shea, complimenti! Parli un ottimo italiano ed hai davvero una buona pronuncia.
Per "distracting" non c'è un aggettivo in italiano che traduca direttamente quello inglese. In quel contesto io userei "deconcentrante".
Hamburger: gli italiani tendono a pronunciare le parole straniere (ma non sempre) e soprattutto le vocali come si pronuncerebbero in italiano e poi tendono a pronunciare tutte le lettere che compongono la parola. Quindi hamburger viene pronunciata così: "ambùrgher" ed ovviamente fa un po' ridere gli stranieri.
Snowman è il "pupazzo di neve", mantle è la "mensola del camino".
Sentendoti parlare direi che il prossimo step potrebbe essere migliorare la concordanza articolo-sostantivo-aggettivo. Noto che hai la tendenza ad usare al plurale sempre il maschile (col finale in -i), mentre articoli ed aggettivi femminili hanno in genere finali in -a ed -e, a parte eccezioni, per esempio aggettivi che hanno un'unica forma sia per il maschile che per il femminile.
Il passo successivo potrebbe essere migliorare l'uso delle preposizioni (di, a, da, in, per, eccetera) che in italiano, come per ogni lingua, è molto difficile e spesso non c'è una vera e propria regola, ma il corretto uso viene dalla padronanza della lingua stessa. Saluti.

il tuo italiano è davvero buono, non devi vergognarti di parlare. Spero che ti godi il meraviglioso cibo della nostra Emilia Romagna. Secondo me, tutte quelle cose natalizie sono in inglese perché sono state fatte in Cina. Certamente la stessa roba che viene venduta in tutto il mondo.
