2 years ago, I was coaxed into seeing Darrell Scott at the Franklin Theater in Tennessee when I was visiting my old friends in Nashville. I'm so glad I chose to attend. It was an experience I will never forget. Experiencing this man perform his music is life changing.
Complete from beginning to end. Darrell, the instrument is an orchestra in your hands. This is the end of my second week after finding this, so beautiful I keep coming back. Thank you Darrell.
There are so many musicians, guitarists, singers and writers in this world. For some unknown reason, this is one man that should never be forgotten. Keep going back to this one. Wow!
I was fortunate enough to have seen him a few years ago in a solo performance at a small venue in Lawrence, KS. It was a wonderful and memorable concert.
Mr. Scott, it seems that I revisit this performance easily, once a week. I cannot describe your colossal talents well enough to convey them properly. But you possess that of resonate, wondrous 'hope.' That's what you offer. I thank you.
love this song....and the guitar playing too, i play this on my ham. dulcimer, there's only a few songs that i really love playing on the dulcimer, this is one
I am WOWED!!!!! it simply does not get more real or pure. What an honor to listen and watch you play. I FEEL HONORED. My husband settled in and rested in your music at the same time was inspired . Thank you.
The pure definitions of taste & feel. Mr. Darrell Scott graciously invites us into his heart & soul with this and all of his performances. But come on ! A casual posture with effortless mechanics on his guitar and sultry vocal timbre just really CANNOT get much better than this. The vocal resonance @ precisely 2:33? Well, thank you sir. Amongst the best I've ever heard.
I've wondered if this could be done well without the piano etc. as it appears on "Crooked Road." In the hands of this skilled and heartful artist the answer is clearly "yes." ... even if he left the last verse out in this version. "This song I sing is finally over, you're free to go about your way. So bang the drum and turn the house lights up. I've really nothing more to say."
Jon Rothenberg jon, it's a combination of E maj & E minor & Amaj , i play it on accordion, when i play the Amaj & B major chords, it's something you will have to play around with & work on, you have to improvise

Darrell is the songwriter, the guitar player and the voice. Superb stuff.
Wow must have watched this a thousand times 👍
I've watched this video at least 50 times and each time it gets to me really hard. So beautifull, Darrell at his best.
Truly AMAZING, a World Class guitar player, a World Class Singer and one of the best Songwriters OF ALL TIME.
He plays guitar, dobro, fretless banjo, pedal steel and piano (like a CONCERT pianist !!). He is a living treasure - that's for sure.

One of the few people, who consistently can write a song that brings me to tears (a grown man).
This song is so amazing on some many different levels.

I have no words . . . except to say, again, that Darrell Scott must be protected at all costs.
Remarkable song, and what a talented artist and lovely man.
