Darrell is a gem of a man, a super talented song writer, musician,and performer - and just great guy. Thanks for being you Darrell and for sharing your gifts.
This is hands down one of my favorite songs and Darrell's performance, skill and magical finesse at playing & singing is extraordinary to watch. It's a rare treasure and a gift from above. Just blows me away how good he is. Thank you for this.
I first discovered Darrell Scott years ago being played on WDVX, Knoxville Internet radio. He does a wonderful cover of "Any World That I'm Welcome To." I actually bought the CD. Haven't kept up with him lately; my bad. This is beautiful. I love the "Blackbird" quote at the end to acknowledge the source of inspiration for the progression; the lyrics are powerful. Darrell Scott FTW!
My son played this for me today. I cried by the second verse. I was torn down by the end. That, sir, is a brilliant song. I love it. Thank you for writing this. I feel all of it.
This song is full of life and sincerity. I'm glad I've crossed paths with this gem... and with this true musician. Whichever type of song I listen to, I've got ears to discern the powerful ones.
Darrell Scott is brilliant. I just discovered this guy yesterday. It's great that he's in Robert Plant's band, but he really shines with just a singular presence, -his voice and a guitar.
I saw Darrell sing this in Tampa this past week. What a sweet wonderful artist. Lots of interaction with the intimate crowd at the Straz. Incredible show!
I remember seeing Darrell at Merlefest when he was just coming to his own, I knew then he was and is something special, what a singer songwriter, what a pro, thanks for posting, this is great Darrell, you are a different breed indeed...
Darell is a national treasure and a gem among the pre-packaged plastic dreck out there. If you love his music, please support him by buying his albums.
Great song and what a monster tone from the Sobell - a Martin Simpson MK 2, European spruce over African Blackwood sides and back, my own has Brazilian b/s.
Darrell has quite a collection of outstanding guitars, and he knows how to play them. Same goes for his songs. The musical establishment in Nashville should pay more attention to troubadors like Darrell.
Fabulous guitarist. Mediocre vocalist and the lyrics are dumb. I'd like to hear the orchestrated version, which should still showcase his guitar playing.

everyone should hear this man.He can sooth the troubled soul.lift your spirit and make you realize what pure mesmerizing talent can do to the heart.
True, what a voice, and the guitar playing. Wow. He got soul
The finest singer songwriter of the past two decades. Change my mind.
Absolutely fantastic. A song like this cannot be written without having walked the miles, no short cut to such soul.

I said it about "River Take Me" and need to say it about this. Beautiful, simple sound. WOW

Wow!
the sobell 'new world' guitar sounds wonderful.....
It's so true!
Fabulous. First acoustic guitar that isn't The Truth that sounds like a wonderful change of pace.
So true as I think of my walk with Jesus. Only as I look behind me do I see the straight and narrow
Nice sounding Sobell
THIS IS WHERE IT'S AT!
@WhenToWatch Absolutely.
Easy listening
Is there a video on how to play this 😂🎉😮
Reminds me of the song, black bird singing in the dead of night.
THe complete artist
Darrell currently performing with Robert Plant in the Band of Joy, let's hope he finds a wider audience.
My life in four minutes, eighteen seconds.
his guitar has already raised 4 or 5 family's just like my hammer has
I'm put in mind of Mickey Newbury's 'Going to Alabama'.
Deserving of promotion and more views and votes; that's some good finger-picking.
As far as guitar I think he's got a lil beatles influence. very well written songs and well played guitar
The chorus has the same tune as Mr Rock & Roll by Amy Macdonald
@edmcgrew :
It's a new Sobell indeed, but I believe it's the Martin Simpson model:
makes me proud to be a Harlan ky boy
@danlay Sobell
by golly you are right. the spatula bridge threw me. it's the new mark 2 martin simpson.
Ozzy ;am got me here. Fuck yes mate! Fuck yes!
oh--the mule life in another mans head
@carolmob66 Sobell
