i have a 4060 mini pc i built ready for this little guy. I had considered a MisTer but i can get more out of the gaming pc. Good to see steam deck works well
One concern I have with using the Nova Blast is that it's display is 4:3 and the Switch defaults to 16:9. Is there a solution you have found to get games not to look bad on the 4:3 display?
Besides using the games display options (some have additional display options), UNICO supposedly updated their video board to allow one to adjust horizontal and vertical image of even HDMI inputs based on feedback. My unit is a prototype so it does not have that feature.
Thanks for this video. I was looking for an ac adapter like this. I couldn't just use my steam deck ac adapter because my portable monitor required the official Switch ac adapter. I assume it's similar to the dock you're using and using the steam deck ac adapter plugged into the dock isn't compatible with the Switch. I would bring only the Switch ac adapter with me when I travel but it doesn't have fast charging. I also checked out the genki covert dock but I like the versatility of the 2 usb ports.

I appreciate the reply, yeah that’s the first thing I tried, with no luck, I’ve tried changing the grip order, tried disconnecting all linked controllers and doing a hard reset on the switch. I even bought this dock that neocvera recommended and still no luck, the picture comes up but the sticks just aren’t connecting. It’s not the usb or encoders because I got the analogue pocket to work on the nova, it works fine, no problems. I wanted to run a switch on the nova to be able to play modern fighters and shmups until I get a mvs or jamma board going. I ordered a mayflash converter that should allow a variety of 3rd party controllers to work on the switch, so hopefully 🤞
Did you try setting the controller into different modes? While the switch is powered on, you hold down a button on the controller while plugging the USB in the controller port. For example: hold down A while plugging in the controls. gp2040-ce.info/usage/
I’m not sure if I understand correctly, hold down a button on the nova’s controller while plugging into the docks usb port? Do you know what buttons translate to a,b,c etc? The diagram link is a little over my head. I appreciate your help troubleshooting, hylo team OG’s are legendary
That all depends on the games options. If there isn’t an option like what is found in Capcom Fighting collection, the 16:9 image will just fill up the 4:3 screen - which isn’t ideal.
@jackipiegg yeah it does. I made a video covering it and why I thinkMarvel Vs collection will also be the same. ua-cam.com/video/kpIbBps9XHc/v-deo.htmlsi=sM4M6tAt7II13hW2
@jackipiegg yeah it’s tricky. The wide setting is basically “full screen” and in our case - 4:3. All of the other settings are forced 4:3 within a 16:9 image so they all look a bit off when filling the 4:3 screen because it’s still taking the empty space into consideration when filling the screen (black bars on sides). The good news is that Capcom didn’t develop a widescreen version of the game but only offered to stretch the 4:3 image to full screen, which is why we get to squish it back to proper fullscreen 4:3, lol I’m confused now! But it works!
@@neocvera This is reassuring if your friend has been using it for years. It remains to be seen which Switch version he's using it with. When does Nova blast come out?
It’s planned to be shipping out to those that ordered it this month.
Hi NeoCvera, does the Nintendo Switch work in the normal dock with the 2 USB encoders plugged in for Player 1 + 2?
I’ve had trouble getting the switch to recognize the nova’s controllers, I actually just ordered this dock hoping that would work

Just watched, why is the 4:3 setting have pillarboxing when your screen is 4:3 native? Isn't "wide" 16:9, so confusing lol.

Hi, I suggest to never use aftermarket dock for Switch. You Can Brick your Switch.
Wulfden explain reasons for this.
The voltage on Switch is spécial.
Both the dock and power came highly recommended from a friend who’s been using them for years.
