I can't believe this was made into a tool. I remember something like this where you would press your hand into and see the shape on the other side as pins 😂

As Tim the Tool Man Taylor days “Real men don’t need instructions.” And as ole Yogi Beer here says “I cut it three times and it’s STILL too short!” Love this channel!

It's a copy of one that has been around since the 1980s. My dad still has the one I bought him back then. Of course they used metal pins then so you could get flush to surfaces.

Really like this tool! 👌 Thank you for sharing the tool in action! I'm going to check out buying at least one for myself, lol, but, for the men in my families, as well! Although I'm an older woman, I've worked a lot harder than most men, during my working yrs, and, men in my family know that I'm pretty constructionally inclined. I've enjoyed sharing my expertise, and this is a great gift! 😊

I like this tool but it has a problem that you mentioned; it won't transfer details that are close to the floor say, on installed base moulding.

Does it make a difference which end you use to cut if I flip it, then I don’t get correct cut.

Why are the faces of the pins angled like they are?

As this is two years old, they've probably fixed that discrepancy, I would hope.

I d on t understand how these are being marketed like they’re a new invention? Profile gauges, they’re called in uk have been around since Adam was a boy.

You know this thing has been around since about 1950 right?
My grandpa had a few when I was a kid, they were his since he was like 20... So I mean... It's NOTHING NEW. at. all.
It's just cheesier and plastic verses the nice steel ones I've been seeing around my entire life.

I get why these are a thing, but unless you're cutting hard tile it's a waste of time and slows you down. Just get good with your knife. I use to get tired of seeing dudes use these and adding an extra like 10 minutes for a tile of carpet or something that shouldn't take more than a minute if you know how to control the tile and actually cut.
