I ended up getting one of these and I love it. I did a baseboard job with it and it just turned out so much better than if i didn’t have it. Especially because it was all stained wood instead of painted wood. I couldn’t just hide a bad miter with caulk. Would definitely recommend this product.
Very thorough explanation that is new to measuring and understanding the miter and miter protractor. Other videos leave key information out which I had to watch a few before I found yours that explain it well. Thank you!
I have the starrett angle finder but the legs are to long for some jobs but as it's plastic you could cut the legs down to make a smaller angle finder.
Is this tool practical to use to be sure the miter saw itself is set at the proper cut angle? My miter saw has no detent for 30 degrees and I want to be sure the miter saw scale is accurate. Thank you!
The middle photo on the box indicates that you can get the angle when measuring the corner on the inner wall. The device doesn't allow me to do thst. The video doesn't demonstrate on how to do it.
When you are butting up a piece that is not having a mitre you use single cut, for example, imagine end of a board going into a corner and you want it in corner without a mitre joint then that would be a single cut, it would give you the single cut 📐
Nice to see such a great tool being used by Chris Martin ;)

I think his 14 degrees was inaccurate I'm trying to understand is he using the outside or inside guauges
I believe he's using the outside scale for a single cut - and it shows that it's a 14 degree angle.
I don’t totally understand the single cut function. When would you use the single cut function?
