Wow Instant Ocean still around. That was the brand of the sea salt I used when I had a salt water aquarium back in the late 80, early 90s. The name just brings back memories of my childhood. The salt crystals on the lid. The water level dropping about 4 inches because I kept putting off water changes due to laziness. Mixing the water in a bucket in the bathtub and then pouring it in the tank. Hope to get back into it one day.
I agree. My refractometer broke on water change day so I ran out a bought this thing for a quick fix. I read the instructions, followed them and took ten different measurement and got ten different readings

Haha yes still around and from my experience still works great! Thanks for the comment, hope you can get back into saltwater soon 🤙
Great video. It saved me $35 plus all the calibration agents for the refractometer.
Good deal 👍 They work, just have to mess with them a bit
Thank you I just got one
And I was going to put a coral in and before I did it I checked it and it’s high so glad I did that now taking some water out👍🏼
Awesome hope the video helped!!
I’m setting up my ( very first saltwater fish and fake coral decorations 37 gallon tank) next year. Any more advices on saltwater tank?
Best advice… keep saving money.. every part of saltwater tanks is big $$ but totally worth it if you can afford it!!
simple and a huge help. Thanks man!!
No worries brother! Happy thanksgiving 🍁🍽🦃
When the needle is upward that is too much salt?
Thank you
With all those problems you encounter, wouldn’t it be best if you just buy a refractometer?
Yeah probably… LOL
I initially thought I could build a saltwater tank on a “budget” Now 6 months later I spent double what I thought it would cost
@@tctanks5293 it adds up quick but in the long run it pays off. Just keep at it. You will make mistakes we all do.
@@tcmarineaddiction6609 for sure!!
refractometers have to be cleaned and calibrated each time they are used.
When you do aquariums with ADHD:
Thanks!!
Anytime!
Throw that thing in the garbage
😂😂😂
