  • The City of Paris, UrbanShift and trusted partners are organising the first Paris International Forum to End Plastic Pollution in Cities on Friday, May 26.
This Forum will gather Mayors from across the globe, but also scientists, NGOs, UN agencies and philanthropies committed to fight plastic pollution for a day of exchanges on local solutions to minimise the impact of plastics on the planet. Beyond advocating for ambitious actions at the local level, with this event we aim to ensure that the voice of local governments is heard and that they are part of the solution to end plastic pollution.
This event is organised by the City of Paris, in partnership with the Association Internationale des Maires de France (AIMF), Bloomberg Philanthropies, C40 Cities, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Geneva Cities Hub, ICLEI, Region4, the Scientists’ Coalition, UCLG, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), UrbanShift, the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and Zero Waste Europe.

Paris, she's talking about using plastic credit financing mechanisms to help collect more plastic and provide fiscal support for recycling.
