This is the first time i have seen your channel. Your work is wonderful. I also appreciate that it is all work and not too much talk. However I know talk is needed at times.
This was my grail when I was a kid. Nice to see this in its restored form.
I have a 1959 Grundig Majestic counsel that was my Grand mothers that I have to get up and running and you gave me some good ideas. Thanks for the video!
Svaka cast momci vi ste dokaz da sve moze da ozivi
I was born in 1950. Had been working/repairing grundig and similar radio sets while studying my engineering. Good old days.
Super Arbeitsqualität, tolle Videos und netter Humor.
Really love your work!
I loved watching these restorations!
My father was a radio mechanic, starting in the 1940s and working through the 1960s with early IBM computers. Eventually silicon chips and transistors took over and he went on to other things, but he always had a few old radios around to tinker with. You brought back a lot of happy memories for me, thank you :)
Valve technology never really went away, Certainly valve amplifiers and pre-amplifiers are still popular, as some audiophiles swear it gives a more analogue and warmer sound. It's always had a market in that respect. Also, older radio's like this have an attraction to the growing group of people, who like all things, "retro" , call it nostalgia I guess.🤷♂
I will never understand the practice of smearing mud on items. Then you put leaves inside. There is no water damage or indication it was outside. Very dishonest and does not add anything to the restoration. Honesty is more important than click bait.
I stopped the video at the leaves, I call BS! go back and tell the algorithm NOOOOOOO!
Fraudulent 😠
Thanks for this information.
@@tallyankeegal same here!
@@tallyankeegalyup the green leaves and smeared dirt killed it for me
Fantastic, I have one of this beauties completely restored
It is always interesting to watch how the hands of a real master give life to old things. It's magic !
Hello from Russia!
Amazing .
Its interesting how the leaves are the same in other videos... its almost like nature recycled the same leaves into other restorations these guys have done.. Nature is so convenient 😂
Love the section "checking for performance" LOL
He's checking the old wire wound resistors and capacitors to see if they've degraded. Older Capacitors especially are prone to swelling/leaking over time, and the older wire wound resistors can drift out of tolerance due to expanding and contracting due to heat, through power cycling.
Congratulations!!! Wonderful work. You have a big knowledge about radios.
We used to have the same radio when I was a child and still around somewhere.
Stunning!!!!
fantastic radio
Those types of things are cool to restore because plenty of different and interesting techniques are used during restoration
Wow! I was impressed with the Grundig but I really didn't think you'd be able to do anything with the Philips. It gives me some hope for my (almost) basket case Emud T7.
I have to say, I winced when you picked up that '92 Fender Strat. That was a guitar in need of some serious loving. The result was great!
Clearly, you enjoy a challenge!😉
Spectacular !!
Beautiful restoration!!
I had one of those from my grandparents when I was 12 or so . Loved it .
Back in the days thinga lasted for ages, and now ? 😢
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Saudações do BRASIL 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷
Beautiful watching a master at work! Thank you!
What a handsome receiver!
Much hardworking, nice restoration, from India
Respect 👍👍👍
You are a master of multiple medias and disciplines. Your skills produced an outstanding transforestoration! Well done sir!! The Old Army Scout…
Distinctive and wonderful work, good luck and success, my dear
Beautiful Restoration!!!
Btw -That old wirewound resistor you replaced,I think it looked like a 10w and you replaced it with a 5w resistor. ,And I would have replaced ALL the capacitors.
Nice work!

GREAT WORK!!
Grundig had the first Active stereo speaker I'd seen, always looking for something interesting they might have.
Well I enjoyed it, ...not sure about that pot-pourri though..😁
Buenas noches exelente está restauración.
Muito bom tanto o rádio quanto a guitarra chikdez
"KLICK, FUMP....sssssSSSSCRRRRRRRR!" The Sound of my childhood! 😄
Mantap sekali kerja bagus dan vidio yg bagus.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍
Beautiful restoration job you did on the old radio and electric guitar. They look much better than before, and they sound really good after you restored them. Excellent work on both of them.
Amazing job well done ❤
I've got a similar one, a Grundig 5088, found 1985 in the trash (!). It worked untill the early 2000th, now some tube have to be changed I guess. It had actually a beautyful sound.
It's not usually tubes, but capacitors that go short circuit,

@@teebee75 No, actually only parts of an old egypt mummy. :D
Nice job
Espectacular, así de sencillo
That’s awesome. Use new LEDs and box film caps.
Verygood👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
Good jobs ❤👍💚
Bravooo.
great refurb well done
Three hands. Nice technique :D
Keeping it classic 🤘
Very nice job bro thanks I'm smashing my like botton Texas style yahoooooooooo katakaboooooooooooooooom
This is one of the most interesting and captivating restoration videos I've seen in a long while. Nice work. Excellent editing and camera work, too.
Because it´s fake? OMG.
Those leaves were not necessary.
you wiped mud on the front and stuffed leaves inside, very fake looking
Such a great restoration. You did it well. 👏👏
Great timing on the restoration. I have three waiting.
14:38 On the plate with all the different radio stations you will see 2 on there that are actually American radio stations, AFN-Stuttgt and AFN-Munchen. In Germany back in the 70's my next door neighbor was a dj for the Munchen station.
Awesome job
Today, a Grundig. Tomorrow: A Hallicrafters!
Incorrect way of soldering, you do not spread the tin on the tip of the soldering iron and then put it on the component (resistor)
well done
Why Leaves??
Because of keeping in a back yard for decades.
A fraudster 😠
Bs@@PatrickKrolickoff
@@PatrickKrolickoff No. Fake.
Because he ran out of sticks and mud.
My grandfather have this radio.
This is fake! Don't fake it. If it's broke fix it!! We'll still watch. It's a cool radio
intentionally smearing mud and putting leaves on the inside.
A well-known procedure used by some Asian "restorers" who, by pure happenstance, find stuff in the woods or by the roadside 😂.
Please stop trying to restore radios. You have no idea what you're doing and it shows watching you replace components. These are not things to mess around with as the power of tube radios can kill you. I'd hate for some young kid to go messing around with one of these because you faked a restoration.
I te polskie klucze YATO restoracja zajebista mega mi się podoba te radio to jakaś licencja z unitry
PS sorki nie znam angielskiego 😜
missing criteria about what electric element to check, here a resistor, there a capacitor ....
Impressive video editing
Wow, the radio turned into a guitar...
It was a great year 1958.
The year I was born.
This is the Radio (Grundig) what I have seen when I was kid 2 years age in the year of 1960.
My Dad take me to our neighbor and I heard noise from the box.
I asked my Father.
Father I heard alot of people talking inside.
Who they are. Are they small people leave inside or what.
My Dad answer. Yes my Son. They are small people inside. I am still wandering. How small they are. Is that as high as gap between finger point and thumb.
My Dad answer again. Yes my Son. You are right.
After that,
I can not imagine at that time.
The channel RRI (Radio Republik Indonesia) which is similar to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
why did you stuff leaves there?😁
Wow this music jumps-scarred me :D
ALOT OF SENSELESS CRTICISM...EXCELENT RESTORATION.
I love collecting these old radios but hate it after the shipper does not properly pack it and glass comes in broken.
I had this with an early 1960s Phillips set from the Netherlands...glass broke in 200 pieces...no recourse
Certainly not a Fender guitar, this one is made from plywood! Surprised there weren't leaves in the guitar as well 🌿😂
Wibeo zer gut!!!
I haven't seen other previous radios get revamped/recalled or resurrected. I wish to see old-timer dual tape cassette players het revamped/recalled or resurrected at once. 🙏 😫 😪 😢 😢 😕 😤 🙏
Fallout Vibes ❤
Let's take it at heart that it's a valid restoration. It was not a high quality restoration. For the radio, I saw no sanding of the frame, no cleaning of the circuit board, varnishing without protecting the black interior with tape, and cleaning up the clear plastic radio markers. Those steps should be done or at least shown on the video.
This is hilarious😂😂 why did you put leaves in Side? Please stop restroration videos and start a Comedy channel😅😅😅😅
the grill really got clean. THose are hard to do
very strange ! I have restored more then 300 Radios from the 20s to the 60s, and I never used a metall brush to clean some plastic parts (knobs) ! Also the paint is rubbish ! And so many other things have not been done well ! Sorry to say that !
I don’t understand the leaves.
Or the smeared on mud
🎉❤😊
tops
Also see: Jim Burns He tares them down to the bare metal!
