I’m the owner of this KR. I purchased it in March 2017 from the original owner. When I bought it there were 5,700 miles on it. The odometer now reads about 8,700 miles (August 2020). It’s a total blast to drive, but at 73 years old, I don’t drive it like Mr. Shelby wanted the owners to drive them. It’s not my daily driver, mostly just to car shows around the Tampa Bay Area. I’ve won approximately 45 trophies/awards and it’s been in a few magazines. The Shelby number for my car is #157 of the 1,011 produced in 2008. This color combination had a production build of 476.
Yes...awesome cars...sound so wicked stock for back then...Carroll Shelby was alive and involved...very cool ride. I've driven them...one of my favorite
I am seriously considering purchasing one of these next week...just can't decide between the KR or a GT350 Avalanche Grey. Most of my friends tell me to get the GT350 but I can't decide.
@@RaitisRides Yah man I can tell you are a huge car guy.You would definitely love my collection. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I own these rare unique cars.
A 2012 of the exact same model with the exact same paint job is parked outside my home since I live next to a cafe so looked it up and found this video. LOL
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 2012 model completely different than the 2008/09 model? Also, I don't believe they made vapor silver metallic for a paint color choice in 2012 but again maybe I am wrong.
It's not a Cobra. I don't know how you social media personalities keep getting that wrong. The last Mustang Cobra had a IRS, this one doesn't. The Shelby's have a Cobra logo on it because Shelby uses a cobra for its icon badging, but that's where it ends when it comes to the Mustang. In fact, one could even say that the Ford Shelbys are Shelby's in the traditional sense, were they are Fords modified by Shelby. Whereas, in the modern era, some of the models done by Shelby are strictly Shelby's or primarily Shelby's with a little Ford peppered in.
The next best shelby to my shelby supersnakes.Yes I will add a KR to my shelby collection. 540hp not the fastest car today but it's still worthy to add one to my collection and I think I am going to find a red KR to match my red gt500 and red supersnake.Lol I love the shelbys
They should have made it more powerfull at least 600 hp out from the factory instead 540hp because for the price they go for 540hp it’s not enough and even they call it gt500 KR

Nice car! I just picked up a 2007 GT 500 with only 1100 original miles. I plan to drive it to shows in Las Vegas.
It’s a beautiful call sir my dream car may I ask is gas expensive?

Love the KR! I didn’t know much about it actually until I started following your channel. Awesome video Joe!
Lori Givens I am glad you were able to pick something new up!
I always learn so much on your channel, great review Joe
The 2008 Knight Rider series brought me here. Heard this was only 40hp more than the GT500 non KR and is $80,000. Crazy.
Great video Joe, keep up the great work, and yes, it's definitely worthy of the name
Thanks for taking the time to watch one of my older videos! I really appreciate your input!

Yeah the silver and blue really pops in the sun!
Also, that quarter window louver cover was not stock from Ford, that's aftermarket.
Shelby Mustang nuff said

King of the road
Yes sir! It is a beautiful car!
Those fauux side scoops were added, not stock to the car.
Started life as a gt500 then sent to Shelby and converted into a gt500 kr I will have one in my collection
You are 100% correct! You sound like you already have one heck of a collection!

The interior hasn’t change that much basically the same
The overall quality of the interior materials is vastly superior on the new cars. This is a pretty car, however,
Michael Jordan I would agree with your statement!
