  • The 113 miles US Highway 1 or the Oversea Highway, is a ribbon of asphalt that connects the Florida keys with 43 separate bridges. Starting in Key Largo and ending at Key Largo, often the narrow highway is the only land in sight over the turquoise seas.
The drone footage is from above the remains of the Henry Flagler railroad near Bahia Honda State Park. The rest of the video is of footage flying to Dry Tortuga National Park from Key West and from around Fort Jefferson. The 70 mile flight to the park takes about 45 minutes.
The ruins of Fort Jefferson are on Garden Key, a 14 acre island and the second largest in the park. One of the largest forts built by the US military, construction stopped on the fort in 1875. Although never completed, the fort was originally built to stand as a protection for the important shipping lanes into and out of the gulf coast.

Beautiful. I miss the Keys. Lived there for a couple of years, many years ago.
