Same problem I am having! I guess it doesn’t draw enough power to cause worry about draining the battery?

I was just researching lightbars this week! I really love your videos. They are very informative with great instructions.
I believe if you hooked up that other white wire you would have the word "light bar" lit up when your headlights are on then the light bar symbol will light up when you engage the switch. So you would still be able to know if your light bar was on or off with that other wire hooked up. You would just be able to see the button in the dark.

so that extra white wire on the switch... I m guess it doesn't connect to the the constant power? it connects to the other one... the one that isn't the ground?
What's up t4r garage. Wanted to thank you again. Your video helped me with the wire install. The only deviation was i went through the small rubber grommet on the left of the main one. I drilled a hole through it to pass the wires through. Worked great. Thanks again!

Just in case anybody out there runs into this issue... the LASFIT 10ft Wiring Harness I ordered a month ago from amazon has different color wires. The 3 wires from the relay are Red, Black and Yellow. I ordered the same switch as in the video.
Here's how to connect to the updated colors:
Black to black
Yellow from the relay connects to the Green on the switch
the Red from the relay connects to BOTH the red and the white on the switch
Everything works flawlessly.

for $15 people should get a relay hanger. You can use the two sockets for your bolts and it will hold 4 relays. You think you will only have one light bar or set of lights.. but trust me, it won't be the end of it. You'll want ditch lights or a backup light or rock lights. having the relay hanger is handy.

Thank you! The switches are different sizes between the 4th and 5th gen. I believe the 4th gen has a longer switch that identical in every other way, so just make sure you get the correct size. Cheers!

SIde question - do your L/R and Mirror toggle buttons light up? Mine are dark when i turn on my headlights.
Thanks for the helpful video! I have a different light bar, but after everything is installed, my switch stays illuminated, even when the vehicle is off. The switch works just fine and turns the light bar on and off like it should. Any ideas what my problem might be?
So where would white wire go if I wanted switch to light up when I turn dash lights on?

Also plan on getting the diode ss3 with Amber drl setting as fog lights, also with your recommendation haha.
The rough country light bar I ordered has an amber drl setting, but I’d still love to use the oem style switch like you did in this video. would you have any advice on how I would wire that up so that the amber DRL runs like your diode ss3 did when they weren’t “on” ?

In a sense, I need to find a way to convert the 3 way switch that comes with the Rough Country (on, off, drl) to the oem style switch button. I’d like for the drl setting to turn on as default kind of like my raptor lights.
@@VietHuynh You can purchased a Cali Raised OEM “dual function switch” that has “white/amber”. It’s just like the switch I used but it has two switches in one. Or you could use a “T-tap” connector to tap into the Raptor lights to trigger your amber light bar drl to come on with your raptor lights. I personally would go with the OEM dual switch though.

Hi I just received my Morimoto 4banger ditch lights but I have a question. I want to replace the Morimoto switch with an aftermarket ohm style switch but I'm stuck with the wire matching, does anyone have any advice they can give me please?
I got the same kind but 42 inch for 80
Does it matter if the negative end is attached to the negative connect on battery or to the ground?

Hey I had a question about the light bar instal to the actual bumper. What mounting system did you actually use to attached the light bar since the ones that come with the light bar don’t fit the bumper itself? @T4Rgarage

@@SuperMarcbarry My apologies, I just woke up, I did in fact used the “L” brackets that came with the body armor bumper to mount the light bar correctly. The mounts that came with the light bar did not work.

Can you connect to a after ignition power source so that way it only runs if the key is on?
This video demonstrates how to connect it with ignition on or off.

I was looking for a power source other than constant battery . I know some people hook up to the ACC fuse under the hood . I would think however that there has to be a ignition on off with key that I can hook the positive up to .

Do I have to get the rago fabrication brackets for the light bar? You can’t just use the ones that come with the RC light bar?
I also have that same winch bumper by the way
I used the bracket that came with the winch bumper for a perfect fit
You should have two L brackets and some hardware included with your body armor winch bumper

Do I need a rely for every light accessory I get?
Yes, unless you control power to the lights with a high current rated switch. Aircraft (mil spec) toggle switches are available rated to 20amps but they’re not anything like the inexpensive switches commonly sold at auto parts stores. The OEM style switches are usually rated at only 3amps since they only power the relay coil and tiny internal LED light.

Yes, but just confirm the size of switch. There is a tall and short version. The 4Runner has the short, Tacoma may be the same but I am not sure

Am I missing something? How did you install the light bar to the bumper? My RC light bar has nothing compatible to attach to the bumper.
Are you attaching it to your stock bumper cover? Or the body Armor winch bumper?

@@mikekelley102 Use the light bar mounts that came with your body armor bumper. They will allow you to adjust and position the light bar perfectly. That is what I did, I never used the RC mounts
