    is ska and reggae not more commonly played on the upstroke mainly?

      Ska is often played on the upstroke, reggae varies. If you're keeping a constant up and down strumming, it naturally falls on a downstroke, but some guitar players play using an upstroke to target the higher strings and get a brighter sound.

      Thanks. Sadly I don't do tutorials for modern songs, as they get copyright claims on them. Prince's record company in particular get those taken down pretty quick if they spot them...
