Thank you so much for sharing this video. The best tip I got out of this video is knowing when to hit the ball - For topspin, hit on top of the bounce. For backspin, hit when the ball drops a little bit. Hopefully, I can master this technique with multi-ball practice and have more confident on returning long backhand serves. Thank you again !
Good advise. I previously thought that even for backspin the point that the spin is null or lowest is at the peak of the bounce but instead when it falls a little after tat. Thts when we can loop the ball easier..Good advise
Give it a try and see what I mean. I hope it helps. As you advance and gain more power you may be able to loop the backspin ball off the bounce but it can be difficult if the spin is heavy. Thank you for watching!
NICE: Clear language and clear explanation. I yet have a little bother about the wrist snap that seems to disappear in some demos. Question: Depending on the incoming ball , as you said you I must tune my bat angle, how does the incoming ball affects snap part?
Hi Jerome. Just like the angle of the bat, the angle of the snap must change as well. Underspin- snap forward and up. Topspin- snap forward. Dead ball- snap forward and over the ball.
Good explanation and demo. Could you please tell how the angle of bat could be different if we need to open an attacking shot against a pendulam serve.
Because the sidespin will make the ball kick off of your paddle to the right (off the side of the table), you have to contact the ball further on it's right side. Assuming that the pendulum serve is pure sidespin, you can topspin this ball with a smooth and controlled topspin. The bat angle is still about 45 degrees, but you must move to the right to allow you to contact the ball on the back/right side.

Good video, clearly shows important points.... You could also mention quickly accelerating at the right time, and fixing the elbow & using forearm and wrist rather than whole arm (below elbow) *shrug*.
Hi, very nice video. I think you are using the same robot I've got (ipong v300/joola buddy) and I was wondering what settings you use to train for the backhand/forehand loops with backspin balls and where you place the robot on the table. Thanks
I prefer the Timo Boll. It's popular worldwide for its' quality and playing characteristics. Nowadays I play with Viscaria blade, Xiom Vega Europe on BH and Xiom Vega Pro on FH
Hi Luiz, I usually save serve return practice for when I have a real training partner. My robot has limited functionality. I think my next video may be a comparison of a robot against a return board. Nice to meet you!
I mentioned in text (during the demo). Thanks for the feedback. I had noticed that I forgot to verbally mention it way back when I first published the video. Maybe i’ll write it out in the video details as well because that is very important.
I was a Beginner of Table Tennis but im Persuing to be Varsity' of my school cause there have no player. And my problem is . we have one table in our church . and i can't play well. What i need todo to improve my Stroke.?

Thanks Arindam. I appreciate your support! I hope all is well.

That makes it clear..
Helll yeah man! Get it!
Thanks Niko. I'm staying entertained making these tutorials during the lockdown and refocusing back on technique. It's a win-win.
Halo bro. Thanks for your tips.
I want to know what's your setup can i copy this? 😁
Of course! Xiom Offensive S Blade. Yasaka Razka 7 2.0 BH. DHS H3 Neo 2.0 FH

It's been a while since I used the robot but yes it was the iPong. I would usually crank the spin up to halfway. Any higher and it wasn't realistic
Thanks sensei
You’re welcome Bigali!!!
i play Chinese grip, wonder if it works the same
Hi Zachary. The body movement, bat angle, stroke trajectory, and snapping of the wrist all still apply to the C-pen style. Play on!
What racket setup do you use?
Xiom Offensive S. Yasaka Razka 7 2.0 soft BH and DHS H3 Neo 2.15 FH
what blade + rubbers do you have? and what is better zhang jike alc or timo boll alc
I prefer the Timo Boll. It's popular worldwide for its' quality and playing characteristics. Nowadays I play with Viscaria blade, Xiom Vega Europe on BH and Xiom Vega Pro on FH
That's excellent Jin! Do you use a robot to serve the balls? If yes, whats the model?
Hi Luiz, I usually save serve return practice for when I have a real training partner. My robot has limited functionality. I think my next video may be a comparison of a robot against a return board. Nice to meet you!
@@Technical.Table.Tennis it will be a great video! Greetings from Brazil!
nice
Thanks!
You explained the angle of the bat but you didn't mention the swing path is slightly different for the type of incoming spin.

I mean, who would turn down playing table tennis?!
U should change camera angle. It is weird from top.
Thanks for the feedback. When I get back to a larger facility I will be sure to improve the angles. I appreciate it.

U cannot make an topspin against heavy topspin 😑. I just want to say it
