    What great idea's. I love the tag idea's because tags scare me. Dont want it hurting the tree. Ill be doing this now.

    Thanks for tagging idea! I stopped using my metal tags because of girdling a branch that I caught just in time.

    if you want a poorly growing branch to improve just niche it, cut a niche above where it goes into the trunk

    If your soil is in good condition, then no varieties will be able to out do the other. By the look of things those fruit trees were planted on default soil.
