Test doesn't tell you if your msd is good or not. All this will tell you that the msd AND the coil are good. My msd when tested like this won't spark at the coil wire yet the med clicks and I get power to coil positive. I suspect a bad coil....
i have had 2 MSD 6a and 6al fail but still spark. they both just one day ran like shit and after checking volts, cap, wires plugs and fuel i swapped a new MSD in and problem solved. dont know what the deal was but it was my friends 6al last year and my 6a today. truck runs but not on all 8 and everything else looks good so im thinking that old MSD is not working correctly
I have a new 6A box and after finding every other MSD street fire spark plug terminal end bad as they blackenedI krimped on new end as they turn black and crumbled (failed resistance test) and new MSD Cap and rotor
Ihd to buy a new dist cap as terminals inside cap towers blackend. After all wires checked good with everything installed engine ran well for a day or so now engine breaking up at 4000 rpm. This initin dyetem seems pretty prone to failure yet I talk to tech rep and his has been working well for 5Yrs. 5yrs I would like it to work for 5 days.

When u tap the white wire or magnetic connector, does it continuously spark? Mines sparks and cuts out right away until you tap it again.
We have 2 different race cars and both fuckin msd boxes went down in the last 2 weeks. Still spark. One of them was brand new 2 months ago

Did you use cheap spark plugs ?

I used to like msd 6al but now I would not recommend them for nothing. Not even a big wheel 🤣
