Marvin Jones' short film is a snapshot of these hardworking, genteel people who cared about and for their families, their homes and their community. As the character and color of DC are transformed under a relentless, uncaring assault of gentrification and real estate speculation, it's good to see "the way we were," before it disappears. We need more quietly authentic documentation of real DC neighbors and neighborhoods.

Good job! I used to visit my friend who lived in the area 60 years ago. A long time. Much has changed in DC since then.
