Yeah, a little more board volume for the significant extra wetsuit weight in cold waves. The videography in this was world class. Such gorgeous scenery. We have fantastic powder and cold water surf in Canada, but I think you'd have trouble topping the experience you just had anywhere.

We got a ton of snow in California. Not that type of powder. Skied shasta yesterday AND watched the pipe masters while taking a break.. pretty cool. But nothing compared to Jamie's escapades... your vlogs are incredible

I have been swimming long distance of a mile or more all winter long for more than 20 years in Lake Michigan. i wear a 3mm triathlon wet suit with 7mm hood and 5mm gloves and booties .. I really like the Acona 5mm boots - they always keep my feet warm even when the air temp is below Zero F ! I really wish that I could find wetsuit gloves that will keep my hands warm !
Try neoprene mitts (3mm or thicker), which don't allow the cold air or water to get between your fingers. You can also wear thin neoprene gloves or glove liners inside them.

He had the big mohawk and an awesome skier! watched all his movies growing up as an avid skier here in Canada! Same age! Met him at a ski show once! He was doing what you are doing now! Its too cool! growing up on the beach in NYC we routinely surfed during snow storms decades ago. aside from standard wetsuits had semi drysuits and a fully drysuit called Shultz Driduck. Could tailor thermal underwear inside and stay in water for hours warm. only reason to come in was being tired or needing a toilet.
You must be due another trip to New Zealand J.O.B you'll be psyched the whole time lol. Love the edit

Epic, Kinda like SFO, CA... surf Friday thru Sunday mid day. Then head up to Palisades Tahoe for a mid week POWSKI!! Except warmer surf in CA
Just an amazing video! Great edits and great music along with the scenery and adventure. Good to see you get out there and take the cold beating. Shows true heart above what you've already deal with at home. When I lived up in gravy territory I went out in a foot of snow, 27° and 34° water with firing 4 to 6 ft east coast barrels. The experience was just worth it and smelling firewood in the air while surfing is just awesome. You just feel like you're going to die after three duck drives. At least you had warm water at 19° c. You might not think so, but we certainly do . But the snow and the cold outside definitely fills that equation in. If it was warm outside we would be out in a three mil. Next time, get a cup of coffee and pour it down your pants afterwards 😆😆Your boy at the end has the real balls. That was epic brother!
You should come to Switzerland, we have Alaya bay just next to the mountains and you can also do a double ski/snow and surf session in one day!
