There’s so many great things about Surf N Show. Main things to me are ; shows waves a lot of us can relate to on boards we want, doing maneuvers we want to learn or get better at. Not saying some of us do not want to charge 10ft pipeline on a 6’8 narrow pin tail but having a bad hip and realistic expectations, Noel’s info is gold to me.
Great interview guys. I've followed Noel for so long now and re-watched so many of his videos...he's starting to feel like an old friend, lol. Its really nice to learn a bit about his history as I feel I have learned so much from him and enjoyed every minute of his videos. I do have to disagree a bit about board length as I think it depends a ton on wave quality. Really short boards are fun in perfect clean waves close to shore with no rip or chop, but in larger open water waves and beach breaks going 5'9-6'1 allows you to cover more ground, paddle through rips and the extra water line keeps your speed up in less than perfect choppy faces and wind where a short waterline would slow down.(ie conditions in most places other than LT or a wave pool, haha). Also Andy Irons looked amazing on longer boards and Jordy and Seth Moniz kill it on 6'1 6'2s...theres something about a longer board swinging off the top like a hinge and then engaging that longer rail in power turns that looks pro compared to really short boards in the same conditions, while shorter boards look(and feel) better on smaller and cleaner faces.
Nailed it Noel ! Cheers to van too Love your story , always was curious To hear how it all began .. thank so much for your huge experience and wise words ! 🙌🏽💫
Great interview. We have similar backgrounds with the exception of the WQS and being able to pull a 360 on demand😂. Grew up in Manhattan Beach, now in San Diego. 🤙🏼
23:04 is such a great point. There's boards they dont make anymore just because they need a new thing to market. I wish they would archive models, so when they go to market the new stuff, you can still order an older board model.
I threw an angled riser onto my Carvers because I wanted it to pump better off of the back foot. I like it wedged on the front and back. I think it’s an easy and affordable way to adjust a surfskate to feel even more like a performance board
Noel you're a legend, I remember you competing against my friend on the PSAA. Ive been riding a PU black baron 2.1 in Hawaii 5'7" 28.1 liters, do you think I can get away with at 5'6" 26.9 liters for Cali beach breaks in HiFy? I'm 163lbs?

Great podcast! Can't believe you had such a long hiatus from surfing. Your content is awesome.
So glad to hear the sampler shout out! I’ve had one since you reviewed it years ago and it’s my constant favorite

@@chazalicious You can order older models with CI. I think that’s amazing too
@@surfnshowreviews7777 Do JS do the same?
