Honestly mad respect to you for honestly reviewing this car in its price point and taking into account what the typical buyer in this segment is looking for. Most other car channels would be taking this through the corners and going on and on about how its slow and the interior isn't as good as the 250k McLaren they tested last week.

NO. wth? It's absolutely horrible value. There are PLENTY other, much better models in this price range. Kia Soul, Kia Seltos, Honda HRV, Subaru Crosstreck, Hyundai Kona, etc. And pretty much all mainstream brand sedans are far superior value. The Kicks basically just a Versa hatchback but way overpriced. People blindly throw money at "adventure" marketing. 23k for a cheaply built hatchback with a 1.6 naturally aspirated engine is insane.

I was a little surprising how well it handled and power delivery for the everyday driving. I guess I been out of the loop experiencing newer cars and only do so when I drive other family member's cars such as their '18 toyota highlander. This vehicle is intended to be a vehicle meant for city driving. It can be had with a 360 degree camera, which is rare for vehicles at this cheap price point. With the small size and 360 camera, it's easy to park. It gets great fuel economy. Nissan just introduced a new small crossover called the Magnite for India and other markets like that, which is similar to the Kicks but is actually better looking. It will have a 999cc inline 3-cylinder engine with a manual trans, or the same engine with a turbo with a CVT.

My wife and I bought her a 2017 6mt corolla iM hatch brand new at the end of 2017 for 14,600, the list price was right around 20,000, but I'm a cheap SOB and it was the only manual on the lot that had been sitting there for a while. It has DWB rear suspension, a full suite of drivers aides (which we turn off), dual zone climate control, and of course Toyota reliability it's been a great car. The reason I bring it up is because deals can be had if you buy at the right time and keep emotions out of the negotiations. We were only half looking for a car when we bought it; her 2007 5mt Yaris had about 130k on it at the time, the rear wheel speed sensors had died and the AC compressor had just died; basically repairs we're going to cost more than the car was worth, but it was still mechanically functioning so I started looking, when this deal came along we went for it, and traded the Yaris in towards the corolla. Don't settle for a CVT equipped Nissan, you'll regret it once the warranty is up.

The customer would see you selling them junk and not come back.. yet your dealership gets Nissans and usually needs to get the cvt replaced.. im just sayin your comment sounds odd to me as a customer. The weird cvt movements is such a total bummer. This car has everything I want and need. Love the look and design. The price is amazing for everything you get with this vehicle. But the CVT is a deal breaker. I’ve been driving a 2015 versa note for 4 years. It’s the highest trim with the additional tech package offered at the time. I love this car and wouldn’t even be thinking about trading it in, except for the CVT! It’s never failed or had to be replaced, but for someone that drives the interstate everyday, I feel like I’m playing with fire. There’s a constant delay with accelerating that makes it very dangerous when switching lanes or getting on the ramps. I am by no means an aggressive or fast driver. So if I’m having issues with this, then there is a problem. I was hoping Nissan had improved this in the 6 years since but I guess not. Nissan if your listening FIX THIS ISSUE!!

These companies can honestly save billions by having 2 suv's, 2 sedans and a pick up reducing the cost of making so many models and trims and still cover 90% of their customer base as well as lowering the MSRP of said vehicles because you don't need to cover so many models with so many different specs etc. Really feel like these car companies are copying samsung with having a phone at every 20$ price point.

I notice there is a "sport mode" button on the shifter. At least on my Sentra, sport mode tells the CVT to act a little more like a traditional auto transmission. IMHO, the "something is not right" sensation comes from the CVT doing what it thinks is logical without trying to pose as a 6-speed auto. If I had never heard of a CVT and floored my car, I would assume the auto trans was failing.

I know you really liked this 2021-2024 first generation of the Nissan Kicks. I own a 2023 Nissan Kicks SR with Premium Package. Identical to the vehicle in this video exactly except mine is Boulder Gray Pearl. I love it. My question is now that you have tested the redesigned second generation 2025 Nissan Kicks which do you like better? The new or the old as an overall package and value play. The first generation Kicks (2018-2024 USA) was such a value play for every trim from the Base S all the way up to the top trim SR with Premium Package. Now on the second generation 2025 Kicks the Base S is still a great value but the SV and SR with Premium Package have jumped thousands in price here in the USA. You could get a loaded 2024 Nissan Kicks SR with Premium Package for under $27,000.00 and now a 2025 Nissan Kicks SR with Premium Package will run you $32,000.00 and thats quite a jump. I know that $32,000.00 one has AWD, a panoramic roof, 10 Bose Speakers vs 8 Bose Speakers, a slightly larger engine, upgraded materials and a new larger platform but I am just curious of your thoughts. They also took away some things like the SV only have 4 speakers and remote start is not as standard as it was in the 2024 Kicks SV and SR. Thanks for the amazing videos.

It's bordering on being dangerous because you just don't expect the power delivery to fall flat on its face while the CVT lurches around like a drunk.
