      For your information, the Land reclamation of Eko Atlantic isn't in any way complete. Also mind you, this is a private development, so they are building at their own pace, if you want it much faster, maybe you can hop-over and give them some billions of dollars, cos it costing several billions to actualize such a massive project. In a fully planned smart city, the most important thing to do first before putting up massive structures above ground, is to ensure that all underground facilities and amenities are fully in place.
      Buildings and homes takes less time to put up. If they start building massively now, there are bound to be some interferences on some underground services that will disrupt the original plans.

      A lot of the investment comes from his family. You do know he’s a member of what is now one of the richest families in the world. Plus he has partners like Dangote cement etc. I’m not sure what your point was, a project like this can either be done properly or rushed, like so much of the crap in and around Lagos. This approach, with actual planning, is refreshing.

    • @mad1701
      @mad1701 5 років тому +1

      C S that’s not the point. Your original comment suggested that they were somehow fleecing investors. Just a cursory look at the progress made so far shows that the project is moving apace. The Chaghoury family, Dangote cement and other partners have a vested interest, just as with all of the other investors. So it would seem that you don’t know what you’re talking about. The fact is that this is a complicated project and rushing it like so much of the other nonsense in Nigeria would lead to disaster.
      Secondly, as you seem to be alluding to whilst contradicting yourself, the project requires a vast amount of financing and there were delays in securing all of the financing. If you knew anything about how projects of this size are financed, everywhere in the world, financing for this sort of thing is incredibly complicated.

    • @mad1701
      @mad1701 5 років тому

      C S PS, the Chagoury family is Nigerian and has very long ties to the country. A lot of their financing and their partners are black. Nigeria is a melting pot of lots of different people and the Lebanese community is well established, with some tracing their arrival in Nigeria to the first and second decade of the twentieth century.

    • @mad1701
      @mad1701 5 років тому

      C S you do talk absolute nonsense. We live in a globalised world and there are black, Arab, Iranian architects in charge of and spearheading massive projects in the UK, the US and across the world. One of the most famous architects in the UK is of Ghanaian descent. Does that mean that Europeans can’t do the same? This sort of backward nonsense is exactly what keeps us Nigerians behind. This project is a great idea and it has been backed by lots of Nigerian investors and in fact the idea of expanding the project(which helped to delay it) came from the then governor of Lagos.
      I am not trying to impress anyone, let alone someone like yourself who simply types away but what have you done to bring about Nigeria’s progress. The Chagoury family is Nigerian and they are proud of that fact and have put together a consortium to do something impressive. When you do something equally useful then you won’t seem quite as ridiculous.
