      Actually in the first movie, in the scene where the horsemen first went into the empty apartment in NY, there was a card that wrote "NOW YOU DON'T" (Atlas picked it up and read it).

      The original plan was to call the sequel "Now You Don't," until they decided to make a third one.
      Even so, I still think they could've gone with something like "now you see me," "now you don't," "now you see me again."
      Or "now you see me", "now you don't", "here I am!"

Pseudo intellectuals that criticize rarely find it in them to just enjoy a movie for what it is and I think this movie brings out those people, that criticize magic as well. Yeah. But what's he gonna pay that bad lawyer with?
      He has no money, and literally a THOUSAND LAWSUITS TO FIGHT.
      And on top of that, if he manages to get a lawyer to work for IOUs, and takes it to court... the defendant in each case is going to explain JUST WHY THEY FEEL THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THAT MONEY.
      Which is going to result in both criminal charges AND frozen assets for Tressler. He wouldn't EVER get that money back (it would be held as evidence), and even then he would, immediately after the literally thousand fraud charges, have the Feds checking EVERY LAST BIT of his company's financial paperwork. Which would lead to all his fraud hitting daylight and his absolute ruination, loss of his place as head of his company, and an early retirement to PRISON.
      So that's not even an option. He's checkmated. Either he accepts the loss of this huge amount of money, but keeps his businesses and out of prison and painfully recovers financially, or he doesn't, has his assets frozen, ends up in prison, and even if he gets out during his lifetime considering the sheer NUMBER of fraud charges, he will have lost his entire career.
      One way, he loses, but can recover. The other way, he loses, and loses even BIGGER.

    • @shadowwriter4538
      @shadowwriter4538 Рік тому +2

      Realistically, that's exactly what would happen. However, there are few problems with that. Arthur likely would have to face a lot of legal ramifications if all those settlements from his insurance company was were originally denied illegally and it could (or would if you count Now You See Me 2) impact how legal or illegal it was; he would need to track down everyone that was there to make sure he would get his money back from the right people, which knowing the Horsemen they probably made sure that didn't happen; plus, Arthur gave them the information so one might argue he left the money on the table.

    • @jaaval
      @jaaval Рік тому

      @@shadowwriter4538 Nah, the bank knows where the money went and they can track transfers even if they took multiple steps. And just because a criminal manages to get your password doesn't mean he can legally take your money. And from the point of view of the audience, it's not their money legally so they are not allowed to use it. So if they do they are liable to compensate it.
