I played Yanni’s masterpiece album In My Time every morning for 2 years. It’s so beautiful, ♥️🌹🎶every song is a masterpiece. Thank you for playing this.
I saw this when it first came out on PBS in the 90's. This was my favorite song, too. I saw him once in concert in the 90's and it was wonderful! It's so refreshing to see a young person single out and appreciate this song!! I couldn't agree more with your whole review...
Love your comments, but note .... Yanni doesn't appreciate being considered "new age". He is from Greece and I know a whole bunch about him (have studied since 1989). Having been raised in Greece, there is religion there. I don't know exactly what that is, but take a look at the titles of his music. You'll see what is in his heart. This video gives you his retort on "new age": ua-cam.com/video/p_A37Uftkxw/v-deo.html
@@superjesusjackson . The correct English would be to call it a ‘piece’. It’s short for “piece of music”. What happened in the last decades is that the pop charts were dominated by songs (defined as pieces of music where the main melody is sung) .. and so people were talking about this song and that song.. rightly so. But then they started making the mistake of calling all pieces of music songs. Because that is what they were used to. They probably didn’t know how to talk about any other music which wasn’t a song. If you come from the classical world it’s very normal to talk about “pieces”. Respect to you for asking me. Basically everyone on UA-cam makes his mistake (outside of classical channels). ‘Composition’ would also be fine. But ‘piece’ is the most easy and normal way to refer to pieces of music. And a song is sung. If there’s no singing it’s not a song. Usually a song has a verse and a chorus too, or at least several verses. Ie the same music just with different words. As I say.. absolutely everyone on UA-cam calls all music songs.. wrongly. You might not be used to calling pieces ‘pieces’ but I can assure you it is the correct English. It’s totally normal to me to call pieces pieces. Eg : “This piece is amazing”

I agree, my friend!

I did not know this. Thanks so much for the comment and providing context Susan.
Why are you calling this piece of music a song?
Would you say it’s a composition instead?
