Khalik Kareem you shouldn’t think like that but a plan b is good. There are many different routes that can get you to pro. Just got to look where you want to go
To answer some of the unanswered questions: 1 in federal 1 (French third division) you’ll paid between the minimum wage of 1200 and absolute maximum 3000 net per month. But it’s very rare to find a player on 3000. If they’re that good, then they’ll be in pro D2 (French 2nd division). You may have a second job, so,probably working in a local school as playground assistant or teaching English. So you’ll pick up to another 1000ma month. Normally you’d get use of a car and an apartment. If you’ve got a family you’ll get an apartment just for them. 2 yes French teams at pro d2 and below are nearly all in the shit financially. Rodez had debts of 600,000 and dropped many leagues, so all the pro players left. I’m it’s current form, federal 1 don’t exist for very much longer: there are four pools of 11/12 teams all paying squads of 40 players. You can do the maths. It’s unsustainable. 3 if you go to some of these federal 1 teams, you’ll be quite shocked at some of the ex top, flight players you’ll be next to in the changing rooms. If Cameron is still at Marmande, then he’ll be playing with the likes of Marco Kotze, ex Agen 6. Ceret have ex all black Hosea Gear coaching the backs, until last year Rodez had Jeff Williams ex bath and England 7s. 4 if you’re in one of the south west teams you’ll have a very nice life, you won’t be a millionaire, but you’ll enjoy the climate food and wine/beer. The clubs are very social.
Ken Rehill so I’ll reply to you haha 1- there are players paid below 1.2 and I wouldn’t say 3000 is the maximum. 2- don’t agree with you at all, many fédérale 1 teams are doing well and the league is very sustainable with all the money presidents have. 3- it is incredible some players you come across/against/play with. 4- anywhere in the south is great yeah, in terms of weather and location near big cities. Some nice areas up the east/south east side and west coast.
