We love you, Lindsey! You are an inspiration for many people. Please make more videos like this. Just an observation, in this video it looks like you are holding a violin with your right hand and bowing with your left...which is different then what you do on stage. Thank you again for all of your hard work. For all the joy and fun you are giving to all of us.
Jus wanna say ur music has undoubtedly helped me with my anxiety... can literally turn in on and almost instantly relax... gonna try and learn this beautiful instrument myself SO THANK YOU

Hi Marijke ☺ How amazing it is that you put on your channel Lindsey Stirling live stream, she is such a great teacher ! I'm a fellow adult violin beginner, I took a lot of notes😉 . I thought it would be a good place on that video to share with you (and whoever read this comment !) some tips I've discovered myself on my own learning journey. First one, is about intonation. When I've started violin, I was worried to not be a able to hear when I would hit the right notes because I don't have perfect pitch. Then on my first months of learning I've discovered something very interesting which helped me a lot with intonation ! Whenever I was hitting the right note perfectly I noticed the quality of the sound was different, much better actually, a lot more resonning and with an obviously louder sound. I talk about it to my violin teacher but maybe I didn't express myself clearly enough because she told me such a thing is not possible, that a good intonation doesn't affect your tone in anyway. But as it was very obvious to me I used that observation to be able to play in tune and be confident in my hearing (it is relieving to know you can relate on something more that just the pitch to know if you're playing the right notes... Then recently I've done some extra research on the internet to know if it was indeed a thing or no. And... I've found something !! It's called the "ringing notes" ! And some violin teachers actually use that phenomenom to help their student to play in tune. The explanation is that the open strings vibrate "in sympathy" when you hit the same note on other strings. For example, in first position, when you play D on the A string, the D string vibrate as well. Therefore the extra vibration and louder sound. It works only if we are very precise, the violin has to be in tune and you have to hit the note perfectly. This helped me a lot for both my tone and my intonation. It helps with my tone as well, because I was used to this nicer tone and it help shape my hearing and go for that quality of tone. The second thing is about vibrato, I do the arm one. About it, it was very unsettling at first because as soon as I've started practicing vibrato, my bow arm couldn't bow straight anymore. It was very discouraging, but I kept trying and finally my brain adjusted and everything went back to normal and staight-ish bowing. So, about vibrato, be warned it can get on your bowing progress but nothing to be worried about, it will resolve by it-self with some extra practice. But I've discovered something else about vibrato. You know when you are endlessly told it's too tense and to loosen it but you don't know how ?I tried to understand why I was so stiff and I realize that was because on some notes, on some strings, for some reasons it was harder for my brain to understand the direction of the movement my fingers should follow (I guess, because the angles axes of the movement change depending of where you are on the fingerboard) that's why my fingers didn't move at all sometimes instead of vibrating (very obvious with 4th finger for example) or get suddenly super stiff. So I've decided to practice in front of a mirror to see my fingers and the movement, and just with that, it unlocked my confused brain and my vibrato immediatly improve, the change was very impressiv. Now whenever I experience that, I practice a little in front of a mirror to get used to feel the right movement and sensations. When I don't have a mirror, I use to just look to my fingers on the fingerboards instead of looking at my music sheets and it also helps quite well to unlock my brain. It made me improve very quickly on the vibrato (but I'm still working on it, it's a long journey...). Also, about the "looseness", I've noticed it was harder on the G string and always on 4th finger, I've discovered it was usually for a mechanical reason, because my arm was too restrained, so whenever I go on the G string and have to vibrate, I use to bend my body forward a little bit to free my left arm. Again the difference is impresssiv. Keep going with the good work and sharing your progress and tips whith us 😄

One thing I've been doing to build strength in my bow hand is driving my car using my bow hold on the steering wheel. Would not recommend doing this out on the road if you don't have a strong bow hold. Try a parking lot first.

Dear Lindsey. Do you think you could do a simple Tutorial on one of your songs, or choose a Fiddling song such as "Arkansas Traveler" or something everyone knows? If I can watch you play through the Tutorial then perhaps I can pick up on good habits, such as how to hold the bow, general loseness, or fingering notes on the Fingerboard. This way, I can "Learn from the Master." I have been playing mostly fiddle music for 7 years. Just an idea. I realize how busy you are.
Plz do more livestream violin lessons
You are very descriptive when telling people how to hold the bow
They are very good and I learn a lot from u 😁
