V11E6: Four Years of Adventure
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 лип 2024
- This special episode celebrates four years of overland adventure, and kicks off exploring the Arizona desert outside of Phoenix. There I take a close look at the condition of the Jeep and talk about its overall reliability. Then, after dropping it off at the shop for some tender loving care, I conclude 2020 with a look back at some of the most memorable places and experiences, both good and bad, and lessons learned since the journey commenced back in 2017. Featuring footage from Texas, California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Quebec, Newfoundland, Michigan, Alberta, and Alaska.

Chris. No need to apologize about your release schedule. Although we are entertained by your life, we need to remember that our entertainment by your life isn’t the most important thing. Just keep doing what you are doing and we shall enjoy
Best Overland You-Tuber out here!
Absolutely true.
100% agree.
Best degenerate father and bum for not holding down a job and setting a good example for Cole.
@John D Hey Johnny boy...why don't you pound sand or start filling out some job applications for Chris.
This one was well worth the wait. You've really got your money's worth out of that Jeep, and though its been beaten about and battered by tens of thousands of miles of offroad trails, it's VERY impressive that outside some minor maintenance, the core parts of the vehicle are still going strong. Jeep should contact you for a sponsored testimonial, as there are not a lot of people out there who have done more in them, and documented all of it, as you.
It was also cool to see the retrospective and get your current narration and take on it. I've watched most of your videos, twice, which is saying something as I normally never, ever watch travel vids multiple times. I do yours though, because for some reason I have not yet figured out to put into words, I find them comforting and always interesting. You can't beat your visuals and travel narrative, ultra dry humor (which is the best kind of humor) and unyielding sense of adventure.
Keep it up, Mr Schontz, as you can only continue to grow as a channel, and adventurer, from here.
The feeling you get immediately the first time you tip a Jeep over on it's side is among the worst feelings a fella can have. The feeling you get immediately as you're driving away from the experience unscathed in said Jeep is one of the best feelings a fella can have.
This is my Deep Jeep Thought for the morning.
Marco is awesome he has a new cookbook out. 🤣😂😂🤣
I always marvel at the amount of thought and time it takes you to set up those camera shots and edit them. They are so well done. I told my sister about your channel and she loves it, but asked if you had someone else doing the videoing. I said, "no".
Wrote this to my son after seeing this episode :
That was me before my back made everything so painful . Could hardly wait to get out of the car at the site of a mountain to run, not walk up to the top like there was gold up there or something. Everything was so new to me having grown up in Michigan. Like a God made fairyland throughout the west. Why wasn't everyone out her doing this I thought.
What Chris is sacrificing to pull this off will someday define his life. I predict if the media and entertainment world will allow, he'll become saught after nature film producer.
You are for sure the best advertisement for JEEP. They couldn't possibly buy that kind of exposure. You need to contact them and put together a documentary. The "HILL CLIMBERS" and "HOT DOGGERS" are fun to watch but your adventures would make everyone who loves "THE OUTDOORS" want to PURCHASE a JEEP RUBICON. Love watching your adventures. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. JERRY B.
I've been working in a hospital, getting the crap beaten out of me, and just plain miserable all year. These videos have really been a respite through 2020 and have reminded me of the beauty that is still out there in the world. I especially appreciate your sincerity and honesty. It is not easy to let your guard down for all the internet to see. Thanks! Looking forward to watching 2021.
Thank you for making the best overland series in existence. You’re a legend, sir! Oh, and come to the Ozarks!
@@jcoats5529 Yes it is the best overland channel, but Shawn is a very lazy guy. He will never do a solo Overlanding trip😅
Thanks for your recap over the last four years really enjoyed it I miss my trip out west this year to go see my son and British Columbia but hopefully next year I can do it other than that be safe have a good holiday. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
Not a legend in any means. He needs more subscribers.
i spotted your Jeep in Prescott left you a note
Thank you for the entertainment Chris. May God continue to bless you in your journeys to come.
Chris.. you’re the Legend! There’s no other Channel out here that comes close to the quality of your! Thanks for all that inspiration man ! Merry Christmas to you & Cole and 2021 will be another crazy adventure year! 🤙🏼
Great video Chris! Well, you haven't introduced her to us yet but this episode you call her your "partner" so things must be going well. You also use "we" describing 2021 plans so... hopefully we'll get to know her better. From her peripheral appearances in 2020 she seems like a neat person and fun to be with so I'm looking forward to seeing her in the future.
I loved this episode! I really enjoyed seeing your skills progress. You gained confidence on the trails, but became cautious when needed. Your video style and story telling has been honed to what we see today, Top 5 on UA-cam for overlanding, IMHO!
Chris, You, my friend, are the most Underrated Overlanding channel on YT. I would gladly pay for a T-shirt and a patch someday if you ever decide to make them. Looking forward to the 2021 adventures.
Its been an amazing 4 years. Heres to the next 4.

I've become so used to your weekly posts that I thought that something serious had happened. I'm glad that everything is okay. Man, what a great video! I've been following for longer than I realized. This is such a good way to finish the year. None of the overlanding videos that I watch appeal to me in the way that yours do. Stay safe in the weird world that we now occupy & I'm looking forward to next years videos. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
