Desolator... it's good, just Soviets have better options is the issue, it's kinda like Colony in HW2, Colony has Goliaths which are an Infantry capable of killing buildings (and vehicles) with a fair amount of ease, but their a melee unit (Colony can attach Skitterers to them which is often what I do to give them an attack that targets ground and air at a range), but the Locust is also available to Colony, which is essentially a T2 vehicle that can target ground and air at range with a beam that's damage ramps up over time, and they can also have Skitterers assigned to them, and Colony can buff the Locust more then the Goliath as the Goliath can get a few upgrades, while the Locust has none, but can be affected by Colony's Vehicle Symbiotes leader power which also effects Skitterers which buffs their range and armor making Locust and Skitterers units with already long ranges and okay defenses tougher to kill and able to fight from farther away, then for the T5 power, Colony can pick up Combat Repair which makes it so more or less everything Colony has constantly regens health even when being shot, Goliaths are really tough (their the most durable infantry unit in the game barring certain Hero Units including Colony's Hunter Captain), but being melee holds them back a bit since the only way for them to have a ranged attack is to attach a Skitterer to them, which could be attached to a more valuable unit or even a unit of Regular Hunters to give their firepower a bit of a boost, or used to scout as their fairly competent on their own against infantry even if outnumbered, and do decently against almost everything else, even if they'll lost the 1v1, their kinda like if you gave Terror Drones a gun and lowered their damage output slightly. At the end of the day, the Goliath and Desolator are both units, where they can do their job really well, but other options manage to edge out over them for one reason or another.
Of course... Who can say no to a fast, early tier artillery unit?... Also reason for Allies requiring Def Bureau to build Uprising units?... I dunno, FutureTech said so I guess...
What do you think of Uprising's rearranged support powers? if i remember correctly, advanced aeronautics leads to timb bomb instead of cryo, while honorable discharge does not lead into defense drones. I think these will create a sizeable impact on how games are played.
I think the new support layout on the uprising game is overall better. I like that it starts with the passive upgrades and leaves the offensive ones like cryo and satellite to the last. And yes, your guess are correct. In order to get cryo you need to unlock the high maintenance upgrade and the chrono swap. While in order to get the drones you need to unlock the naval upgrade
if the future tank is affected by terror drones, at least on my side using the upheaval mod, only its special ability, riot beam, can clear the infection.
2:02 A bit funny of you to say Grinders are piloted by Brutes to continue Yuri's service considering RA3 takes place in a different timeline than RA2 🙃
So consider orbital patterns. Now consider earths orbital pattern. Now consider an object that is orbiting the sun flying though earths gravitational field, momentarily being influenced by it, and then leaving said field. That was a joke flying over your head.
Uprising is a huge disappointment for me. There is a lot of cool stuff, but it is so poorly implemented, even more rushed that RA3. Even if I don't play multiplayer, I still find appalling that they don't support it - especially as that is what is keeping RA3 alive right now. Every unit added is OP in its niche, its just whether it is economically viable, or suitable for its tech level. They repaired some omissions in each side but doubled down on others and didn't repair existing mistakes (Looking at you sputnik). Desolator doesn't need to be AT, you have tesla troopers for that, drop it down a tech level and price and restore its area denial. Why do cycles clear garrisons when conscripts and toxin strikes do this so efficiently? Not to say that desolators also compete with this. Why not make the cycle closer to the GLA? A mobile light transport for a single soldier that doesnt risk AA to deploy. Even better add mortar infantry as a seperate light artillery that combos well with the cycle. Grinder tank, as said it is competing with existing excellent tanks. Plus its ability is weaker than the magnetic harpoon. Why not make it closer the crane in that it could produce money from kills and help the soviet economy (Fits its lore), with a special ability to switch to using the scrap to repair allied tanks and help the soviets with their poor repair capabilities. I really do not understand what they were going with the reaper, if it could redeploy at will it would be a significant improvement. Tbh I would have switched it out for a super unit. Give the soviets their end game Gigafortress (Why does Empire have 2 super units!?) The cut centurion walker would do. If not a direct fire artillery unit that can't be dodged or a long range AA like mental omega grumble would have been lovely. Final alternative, soviet battleship for naval dominance? The Empire units for the most part I really like, balance for some aside. It is just the Giga fortress that baffles me. Both ugly and clumbersome. A larger King Oni with AA or ally buff would have been nicer. Or a dedicated air unit or naval supreme unit (Even if its a giga fortress without transform). Empire did only get 3 units ... For the allies, balance issues aside they make some sense composition wise, harbingers if balanced would compete against century bombers, but if each faction had a super unit then it would fulfil this niche. But the Pacifier & Future tank both compete with this role thanks to their OP power. As the pacifier competes with the Athena it doubly does not make sense. Empire and Soviets both received several additions to their lower tier, but the allies spec entirely into their higher tier. A tank destroyer to complement guardian tanks or sniper to complement infantry could have been nice additions that wouldn't be so blatantly OP at least. Yikes, that was a rant! Sorry for the wall text 😜
I like how this comment section has 20 comments as of when i'm typing this, but 10 or so are from that Daniel guy Either way, i was totally *not* ready, at all. For the Harbinger Gunship to be lower than A tier, i was damn sure they were bottom S tier at best and middle A tier at worst. Then we have the Desolator, tbh i was sure its not gonna make it anywhere above C tier but F tier god damn, well it make sense cuz it no longer has what's necessary to make it top tier in the first place AKA area denial against tank *and* infantries
Mostly due to the fact that Harbinger is a late game unit with both tier 3 and defense bureau required for its production. They are OP to the point that they are almost a win condition, but making investment into them leaves you very vulnerable to any aggressive play before they actualy come out.
Wait. I never remembered anything about Terror Drones being able to disable infantry with their Electro Stasis Ray. And I think Giga-Fortress should have been D-Tier due to how costly they are.
Iirc it’s because they are “armoured” unlike normal infantry. Think of it like tesla troopers being able to be sucked up by electromagnetic satellite despite being infantry due to their heavy metal armour. It should be the same interaction as well between tesla troopers and terror drones stasis, as well as legionnaires and terror drone stasis.
I want to point out two things: I don't believe the assessment of Ronins and Grinders is complete. I mean what was noticeable to me, is that Grinders when combined with "Grinder Treads upgrade" the basically can repair themselves in a preposterous amount of time. I once triec this thesis on "gosh darn Mongolians" and o boy, Kenji got humiliated BADLY. All it took was 2 grinder, 2, to destroy his offensive capabilities, *entirely* So, I'd consider at least B-Tier for that matter. And the Ronins, I don't quite believe it affects their overall ranking, but it is noteworthy that Ronins once upgraded with "Honorable Discharge", they bring almost certain discharge damage - but still noteworthy. EDIT: The Giga fortress can also crush enemy units while transforming, whether they be upon or under it, that should also be taken into account, although it doens't make huge difference it increases the viability against Kirovs and Century Bombers. DOUBLE EDIT : OK, folks forget what I wrote! There is totally NoThInG going on with grinders and Ronins, absolutely nothing interesting!!!
Shhhh, I’m saving the trivia for individual guides ;) Grinder’s not gonna do much due to their hard counters and lack of use cases in any match up, no matter how much they regen; They already win land match-ups anyways, but as mentioned, nobody directly confronts soviets on land. A single vindicator almost takes an expensive Grinder out completely. Empire spams too many mobile units. Other soviets shut down grinder COMPLETELY with terror drone.
@@Beleidigen-ist-Pflicht one extra point to know is that even if grinder treads is up, you won't be able to catch too many tengus before the honorable discharge severly cripples your grinder

Actually - MP matches aside - Why are Japanese even allowed tro have Giga-Fortresses at all? With Allies winning the war, don't You think they would demilitarize not just Soviets (hence the reason Grinders exist in Uprising), but the Empire, as well? I mean, this isn't a rocket science.
The Empire was in a state of desperation of resisting the Allied occupation at that time. And as such they pooled all of what's left of their resources to build the Giga-Fortresses.
S tier exists because tier list meme came from Fighting community, they for some reason use S tier as the highest ranking, it has nothing to do with education
I still can't believe that all Allied units are not on the S-tier, especially Pacifier FAV, Harbinger Gunship and Future tank. They are ridiculously OP regardless of their tech or cost, simply because they become unstoppable game-ender once they started to produced. Mortar bike on S-tier? lol who cares about those cheap little fodder...
Theirs shell travel slowly and even have warning sign on the ground , dodging them is quite easy unless your army size is too big . They only good at demolishing enemy base and end the game that way .
No one plays uprising right? I remember regretting buying this expansion, all the units are very immersion breaking for some reason, especially the giga fortress
This is a first. I can understand a lot of complaints for uprising, but this I certainly can't. RA was always ridiculous and that's what made it fun, suicidal tanks blowing everything around em up and themselves, rocket firing tanks with the ability to teleport anywhere, flying discs, mind controlled squids, combat dolphins, psychokinetic schoolgirl commandos and yet it's the expansion with the floating head that's the immersion breaking one.
@@Fakeslimshady I'd disagree on the ronins and archer maidens, they're extraordinarily fun. Ronins are dedicated melee units for the empire, kind of like Zealots. And they fit the theme very nicely (tho their concept art looks much better than the ingame model, but that problem is shared by vanilla RA3 too). Archer maidens are nice AA which makes a nice change of pace instead of relying on tengus all the time. Their ability is also very nice. Harbingers fit the theme BUT I don't like them as units, AI spams em too but what can ya do, it fits the role of the Allied air siege weapon. You can tell by the looks of something if it's made by different teams, but it's much much harder gameplay wise to distinguish who made what or to even guess unless you're well familiar with someone's style and/or have confirmation of behind the scenes. I think they fit and would be great to add to the official arsenal, with some balance tweaks which honestly a lot of c&c games need should they do more remasters (which ofc they should).
Mortars offer A TON of values, while archers are mainly a defensive unit. Empire hurts from the $500 extra credit for refineries, and has to be able to afford the entire cost of a building at once to not delay their builds. Soviets can build some mortars while slowly getting their new ref up, while Empire has to hold on to their money until they can get a core out. 4 archers literally equates the cost of a Mecha Bay.

Desolator... it's good, just Soviets have better options is the issue, it's kinda like Colony in HW2, Colony has Goliaths which are an Infantry capable of killing buildings (and vehicles) with a fair amount of ease, but their a melee unit (Colony can attach Skitterers to them which is often what I do to give them an attack that targets ground and air at a range),
but the Locust is also available to Colony, which is essentially a T2 vehicle that can target ground and air at range with a beam that's damage ramps up over time, and they can also have Skitterers assigned to them, and Colony can buff the Locust more then the Goliath as the Goliath can get a few upgrades, while the Locust has none,
but can be affected by Colony's Vehicle Symbiotes leader power which also effects Skitterers which buffs their range and armor making Locust and Skitterers units with already long ranges and okay defenses tougher to kill and able to fight from farther away, then for the T5 power, Colony can pick up Combat Repair which makes it so more or less everything Colony has constantly regens health even when being shot,
Goliaths are really tough (their the most durable infantry unit in the game barring certain Hero Units including Colony's Hunter Captain), but being melee holds them back a bit since the only way for them to have a ranged attack is to attach a Skitterer to them, which could be attached to a more valuable unit or even a unit of Regular Hunters to give their firepower a bit of a boost,
or used to scout as their fairly competent on their own against infantry even if outnumbered, and do decently against almost everything else, even if they'll lost the 1v1, their kinda like if you gave Terror Drones a gun and lowered their damage output slightly.
While in order to get the drones you need to unlock the naval upgrade

if the future tank is affected by terror drones, at least on my side using the upheaval mod, only its special ability, riot beam, can clear the infection.
also another thing that legionnaire when in IFVs can take down kirovs in seconds and makes it best at heavy AA role
Tbh I was waiting this one for a while.
1:35 Just spam tengus bro, that's how I completed Harbringer challenge in Uprising.
They have no way to kill Migs or Tengus etc
why not dojo rush, fast dojo rush can end the challenge in around 4 mins
Didn't know Terror Drone can zap both Cryo leginonare and Desolator trooper .
They should also be able to zap Tesla troopers. Never seen it happen but they should according to their coding
I like this wonderful "ОЖОГ"
Question: does your Harbinger ship also take forever to turn in the Upheaval mod?
I remember Harbinger being very responsive in the uprising
LET'S F*CKING GOOOOOOOOOOO.
Finally we got this video, thanks ;)
2:02 A bit funny of you to say Grinders are piloted by Brutes to continue Yuri's service considering RA3 takes place in a different timeline than RA2 🙃
So consider orbital patterns.
Now consider earths orbital pattern.
Now consider an object that is orbiting the sun flying though earths gravitational field, momentarily being influenced by it, and then leaving said field.
That was a joke flying over your head.
So do you think that Mortar Cycles can be used to mitigate Twinfrog’s only weakness?
I feel like at least some of these units (archer maiden especially) if rebalanced/tweaked, could be pretty good/worthwhile. But mabey thats just me.
Yep. I'll do another stream for my King Sputnik mod soon. Three Uprising units are in it and they really add a lot to the game.
Desolator in Red Alert 2: S tier
Desolator in Uprising: F tier
Wut
Slow toxic waste movement speed is hard to eliminate enemy quickly. Less useful in anti tank duty. More than enough reason to be in low tier
Rocketeers in RA2: S-Tier
Rocket Angels in RA3: F-Tier
F
Wish Archer Maidens were buffed into S tier 😂
Uprising is single player
I like how this comment section has 20 comments as of when i'm typing this, but 10 or so are from that Daniel guy
Either way, i was totally *not* ready, at all.
Damn allies...
Does allied having the biggest tank make them villains?
The biggest copters are the symbol of villains
Also the biggest infantry - Cryo Legionnaire
well since futuretech is referred to as the villain in uprising i suppose it checks out
All it took was 2 grinder, 2, to destroy his offensive capabilities, *entirely*
So, I'd consider at least B-Tier for that matter.
Shhhh, I’m saving the trivia for individual guides ;)
Grinder’s not gonna do much due to their hard counters and lack of use cases in any match up, no matter how much they regen; They already win land match-ups anyways, but as mentioned, nobody directly confronts soviets on land. A single vindicator almost takes an expensive Grinder out completely. Empire spams too many mobile units. Other soviets shut down grinder COMPLETELY with terror drone.

Still, as a naturally unlocked Tier 2 unit, they have more uses than Desolator
I wish they actually deal some damage though , theirs nade launcher don't know what type of unit they should be best against , and theirs rocket deal pitiful damage to aircraft , seriously an IFV deal more damage and cheaper .

D for 2

No one plays uprising right? I remember regretting buying this expansion, all the units are very immersion breaking for some reason, especially the giga fortress
This is a first. I can understand a lot of complaints for uprising, but this I certainly can't. RA was always ridiculous and that's what made it fun, suicidal tanks blowing everything around em up and themselves, rocket firing tanks with the ability to teleport anywhere, flying discs, mind controlled squids, combat dolphins, psychokinetic schoolgirl commandos and yet it's the expansion with the floating head that's the immersion breaking one.
@@aze559 the archer maiden too, the ronins and a harbinger too. Can't even say they're fun tbh, feels like two different groups of devs who made them
@@Fakeslimshady I'd disagree on the ronins and archer maidens, they're extraordinarily fun.
So, the mortar cycle costing 600 credits *is* spammable, but archer maiden costing 500 credits *is not* spammable?
Mortars offer A TON of values, while archers are mainly a defensive unit. Empire hurts from the $500 extra credit for refineries, and has to be able to afford the entire cost of a building at once to not delay their builds. Soviets can build some mortars while slowly getting their new ref up, while Empire has to hold on to their money until they can get a core out.
4 archers literally equates the cost of a Mecha Bay.
@@xyhc-cnc I understand.
If conscript costs 500, and apocalypse costs 600. Do you think conscript is better than apocalypse just by the cost?
@@itaymaoz7498 No, but i'm not a competetive player.
