I hear zero difference but the Maple looks beautiful. And the playing was perfect spot on. That Blue really jumps out. Great vid

Me too haha, the maple one sounded a bit to thin for me
I like the sound of maple overall in this test ! ...but for the overdrive sound in bridge position I prefer the rosewood tele which sounds louder as if the magnet is set higher...
To my ears maple sounds clearer, fuller and richer...even if I love rosewood on teles.
But in the video maple sounds better in all pickups.
I was interested un purchasing the rosewood in white but ....
Maple wins on a Tele, rosewood wins on Strat.

Sometimes the eyes can lie to you. I think the maple sounds darker ( more mid forward) and balanced, while maintaining sparkle. The rosewood, marketed as warmer and richer in tone, sounds a but more shrill to my ears and bright. I know, I know, everthing can be changed in the EQ, but thats just what my ears are telling me. I prefer maple neck/boards overall, but Im still getting a rosewood at some point. I think ultimately it comes down to wood and the pickup choice working in tandom ( yes Im going with that, myth be damned). If im being totally honest, I think I just want a rosewood neck for the astetics and different feel.
I have an all rosewood after market neck on my Mexican Franken tele. Bisgby with tex specials. The rosewood takes out that sort of "squeal" that a tele has. Only thing I don't like is when in the neck position, its very dark. It doesn't have that tele spank(as much) but. Looks killer and it handles higher gain settings wayyy better than the maple. Almost like the guitar got quieter in a weird way. Again. Comes down to my overall point. The rosewood knocks off some of the "squeal" it became my drop D guitar.
And I use majority clean headroom for my tones so for me the wood makes a difference. For high gain metal guys this isn't a discussion for them lol
If there's a difference, it's not at all significant. Means you can get the one that looks best to you and not worry about the tone.
Both sound great. When it comes to the bridge position though, maple gives a bit more of what is so uniquely special about a Tele.
wrong. the wood has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything. Drives me crazy with this neverending nonsense about 'tone wood'. It purely electronics. String to pickup, pickup to amp, amp to ear. That's IT!
@@mikemccart8236 Feel like you're coming in a bit hot here Mike for me simply stating the difference that I heard a year ago. Without having personally inspected these two guitar, I can't know for sure if the difference I heard had more to do with the pickup height on each guitar than with the wood on the fretboards. For a fun deep-dive on these sort of things, I think you'd really enjoy Jim Lill's videos that make your point, albeit with less of the caps-lock & exclamation point vibe.

For a correct comparaison, there should be exactly the same body and strings. You know that Fender guitars doesn't have a constant sound ;-)
The rosewood board sounds the most the same, whilst the maple board sounds the least different. There, debate solved.

Zero difference in sound. The strings are hitting wire in both cases and there's not enough fretboard wood to impact sound. The impact is in fretboard to finger reaction which is pure preference.

Like there's something trapped sound in maple, but i still like maple than rosewood 😁
The maple sounded a bit thin to me, then again it's the twangy signature Tele sound.

the pickups don't care why type of wood is on the fretboard or the entire guitar for that matter. Such a RIDICULOUS marketing gimmick that so many people fall for. It could made out entirely plexiglass (JImmy Page). Its looks ONLY people. Wake up!
