Tbh I just finished my first full year cutting and I've been doing all these things. I even stand outside and hand out business cards to people walking by when I'm not busy. I've snagged people off the street who have turned into regulars.
That's a good shout, I've never gave out leaflets or cards, but maybe something we should all be looking at, always get a min. when we ain't doing anything and I have a food outlet next to my shop always some workers that could be doing with a good cut on their lunch break.
Some good advice there, defo for new barbers to take good note, and realise how clients can go down as quick as you can build em up. I don't know how other barbers feel but I've never stopped learning new technique, skills ,products. Same as we want to learn about clients work they want to know about ours when they're in getting a fresh clean cut.
We do walk-ins and appointments. The walk-ins turn into appointment clients after a while. Many people can't do appointments due to their schedule. It's kind of the best of both worlds.
It’s crazy because I have the opposite of a problem. I went all in on barbering and got so busy my body is just destroyed. My life my free time doesn’t exist I cut 10 hours a day 5-6 days a week. I do make close to 100k but it’s so intense that I’m trying to find a way out. My body my energy my mind I can’t take handling 30 people a day. Sounds like I’m whining but there’s got to be a better way
Hey bro. I’m looking into this career and am just wondering, why don’t you just cut back your schedule? Seeing 30 people a day sounds stressful even if it is possible… when would you even have time to eat or have a second to breath? Does barbering get like this or is it a personal thing? I’m asking sincerely because I’m interested in this trade but the anxiety coming from this comment is real! Hope you find a better way bro!
@@BluOrangeJuice funny I just got home 🏠 from the shop. Ask yourself why you want to cut hair? You either a people person or an artist 👩🏻🎨. If you’re a people person go into sales. If you’re an artist 👩🏻🎨 become a tattoo artist. That’s my best advice. Have you ever worked in a factory 🏭 before? Where you stand in one ☝🏻 stop and do one thing over and over and over until it’s time to go home 🏠. That is barbering. You are standing in one ☝🏻 spot 8-10 hours a day for me it’s 9 hours 9am-6pm. You’re doing the same thing cutting hair until it’s time to go home 🏠. I would strongly recommend choosing a different career.
its simple supply and demand, push up the price, some will leave and others will stay, and like that you shorten you list and only your most valuable clients will stay, still to much people?? Push up prices again until supply catches up to demand and your doing 8 or 10 a day instead of 30🤷🏼♂️
How are you cutting 30 heads a day and making ‘close to 100k’? Sounds like you need to raise your prices. You should be clearing $100k easily with less.
