What a truly rock star of a mom. To take the loss and make his life have such meaning.
Both parents are truly beautiful inside and out it pores out.
I hope you continue your work. It will save so many. And inspire others to be able to cherish and and honor their child's lives. We can not die when they die. We have to let their lives live on through us and others.
God bless you all. What a wonderful family.

This is one of the most heart rending stories I have read. Such a beautiful family in every way. Losing Cash just tore my heart. I am an old grandma and I love children so much. May you have peace in your hearts and joy with your sweet children.

Mumma do not blame yourself, who could have known? We all were given hoses to play with on hot days. You are an amazing woman, mother, wife. I thank you to you and your husband for sharing your story. Look at all the good you have done and are doing, supporting these other families and making us aware. I am a city person, but my extended family live on the land and we thank you. It needs to be a nationally notified disease. All communities using fresh warm water (untreated) should have this information and the filtering equipment needed subsidized.

    • @patriciabrightwell196
      @patriciabrightwell196 4 роки тому

You make an extremely important point I didn't think about -- the equipment subsidized. Because the population is so sparse, it seems cost effective, against the cost of health care -- My heart goes out to these courageous families for telling their stories -- I pray with each telling, each time this video or other information is made public, it lessens their pain --

3 children within 100 km dying of this "rare" disease would have me packing my bags and moving. I can't even imagine running water over my dishes, much less drinking or bathing in it. With a proper diagnosis of first patient James, public warnings, and prevention measures, two children could have been spared. 😢 I respect the parents immensely for doing the research and taking the action necessary to prevent this horrible disease.

I️ live in Texas where we also have Naegleria fowlerii, typically found in warm ponds or cattle tanks where children might swim. We also have a pretty robust public education program about this disease; I’ve seen the poster about “brain eating amoeba.” It made me very cautious about where I would allow my kids to swim. Please continue your efforts to inform your fellow Australians about this deadly and difficult-to-treat disease. You may be saving that next child’s life. Blessings on your lovely family.

I very much appreciate this comment. When I saw the program in Sydney, I knew nothing about the issue...but if my posting of this video has done even the smallest thing to bring this calamity to wider attention, then I think I have done a good thing. Thankyou again. David

Even as a kid in Texas, my uncle was a biochemist. He understood what could be in cattle tanks and warm pond and lake water. We went swimming in pools only and I thank God for it. Although public education is pretty good here in W Texas about water dangers, there needs to be more because we see too many children playing in warm lake water.

Oh my God I just cried a river for this wonderful family that went thru so much pain. Little Cash was such a cutie and his loss was terrible. They're very strong under the circumstances. The little daughters said Cash is in the moon and they're making a good point he's a little angel looking down on them. May God bless all of them and make life a little easier after this horrible loss. Stay blessed. 🙏

We lost someone here in Indiana a few years ago from this. It is so tragic.

As I watched this tragic story I kept thinking that a young girl in Indiana had died from this as well. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly where in the state and I don't know the age and name of the child. I grew up swimming in rivers and lakes as well as ponds. Never heard of this when I was a child. My heart goes out to all the families that have suffered from this. As mankind continues to pollute this planet, I'm afraid it will only get worse. May Jehovah's love and spirit comfort the families who have suffered this devastating loss. Rev. 21:3,4, Isaiah 25:8; 33:24, psalms 37:11,29 Acts 24:15 John 5:28,29) may you find comfort in the scripture . For more answers to the promised hope in the not so far future, JW.ORG here you can fine answers to any questions you may have about why we die, the condition of the dead and the promised future resurrection of our lost love ones. This website is free and all publication can be downloaded free . No personal information is required to use the site and you can submit questions and they will be answered. Also you can request a personal Bible study and fill out the online request and someone will be directed to you to provide you with that request. Agin my heart goes out to all who have suffered the death of a child. My husband lost his only daughter to a brain tumor at the age is 6 months. Every year he mourned her especially so on the anniversary of her death.😪

I live in Richmond, Va in the US where we can experience drought and very hot summers. The James River flows through the city and is the source of the water supply. When the hot, drought conditions exist, officials ban swimming in the James -- it can become very shallow -- and make repeated warnings about this -- yet, we have experienced deaths of young children from this. God bless these families, may their happiness outweigh their grief. I can't imagine that they don't ask themselves: why us -- but I think they honor their children's lives, and their own pain, by speaking out and doing all they can to save the next child, the next family. May God give them strength in each breath -- Patricia

I know that when it comes to children growing up in beautiful places, awesome, but when it comes to water that is not coming out a pipe, and it is in the earth, you can never turn your back on anything can be in that water, you never trust it 100%, don't be afraid just always cautious, I've seen sharks show up on Beaches, Where they were never supposed to be. we have become way too comfortable with certain things in nature, if it's bigger than you, don't ever turn your back on it. I'm sorry for what happened to pumpkin, that should never happen,he was just having fun!😟🥺
I heard dad say we live in the middle of nowhere, never say that, if animals can exist in nowhere, then yea you are not alone. I don't blame them it's just, in the future.

This has happened several times on the USA...its devastating, kahli Harding was the first person in the USA that lived I think...She contracted it at a water park in Arkansas that I use to go too...it was basically a man made pond used as a water park...they call the protocol the Harding protocol....it was successful twice, awareness is key...I found out about it the summer before, and became super cautious when my girls were in water...and am even more so now...years later...My heart breaks for these families

When you combine animal waste, cattle, chickens, goats, etc, with ground water, heat this type of bacteria thrives. Very rare, and unfortunate situation. I grew up swimming in canals, ponds, and ditches, difference was in Colorado the weather and water was cold.

I’m kinda shocked that the "expert" they spoke to said how much he didn’t like the American public health awareness campaign - specifically, calling it the [admittedly confronting] 'Brain Eating Amoeba'. I’m not sure if his objection was due to the shock tactics of using that tagline, or because of medical inaccuracies. However, you’ve got to admit that it absolutely works in getting its message across, & thus successfully raises public awareness & conveys the risks of this horrible condition.
