I inherited one from a deceased friend that I’m completing as a tribute to him as he passed during the build. I’ve been an rcer for decades but never owned a truck. I’ve gleamed a lot of useful info and ideas from you vids and I was happy to see how you went about installing the MFC while keeping the interior as it appears that’s what my friend was trying to do also. Thank you again for the vids.
At 47. Having been in the rc hobby. I do like scale rc crawler trucks. I now too want to get a rc semi too. Maybe someday soon. Those are pretty neat!!!
This video was posted 20 minutes ago and I must give it a thumbs up. I love the build videos and this is one I have been anticipating for months. Keep it up Bob!
This is the kind of truck that needs a black cab, silver fenders and lower panels, extra lit switch panels all around the driver's seat, a recessed scoop just above the grill with a row of eight LEDs that cycle back and forth, and William Daniels' voice.
Another fantastic video 😍 You are really the Mr. Tamiya Truck Master. Please continue doing these great Videos 😃 I always learn a lot watching your vids, THX 😊
Bob, a long time follower here...I wonder what'd you do with all this build up kits? are these custom made for clients? However, you are like a guiding beacon for all of us in the semitruck RC world...your vids are both inspirational and educational!...never stop and God bless.
The large hole is for the MFC trailer connector for those that use it. I have built this truck already. I also used a smaller speaker box and was able to keep the dashboard and seats.
Hi Bob, as usual a good video. I just completed my Knight Hauler and runned it for the first time in our RC truck club. A beautifull truck when you ride it in a scenery. I am very happy whit it. And the build and wireing i did is pritty much the same as you did. The speakercase from the truck kit is to big indeed. But the small one included with the MFC01 does the job fine to. Keep making videos please.
I built my Knight Hauler with the bigger speaker box, I get regularly asked why the sound is so much better (deeper) than the other MFC01 equipped trucks at our local meetings that used the standard speaker box. But yes, that does preclude having a beautiful interior.
Back in the day Tamiya had a light kit that included switches in the back of the cab. If its one of those you can probably find instructions online. Some of the older MFC's do not work with digital radios so if you have one of those you can email me for info...
Has anyone thought to chuck the shake motor into a vise, power it up, and take a rotary sander to the spinning weight to shave some mass? That would keep the designed balance while dampening overall vibrations.
Bob, a legitimate question, please. Would the fenders and bumper assembly from a Grand Hauler fit as a direct swap onto this truck's frame, or would we be drilling new holes?
Can you tell me can i buy the wheel arch cover on the Tamiya Grand Hauler Custom to put on the Tamiya Knight Hauler if so where i am in the UK i would like to thank you you have so good vids on you tube .
Whats the paint process Bob? Ive painted mine and it came out terrible! Whats the process from getting it out the box to having it finished? Do you prime it? Sand it? Lacquer it? etc etc
Could I use the Spektrum NX6 2 stick flight controller as the radio controller for the TAM56314 Knight Hauler or would I need to buy the Tamiya MFC Controller
Yes, you could. You need to center the left stick using the centering screw in the lower left corner of that stick. Then you can program the radio like I show in my DX6e programming video. Note that when you center the left stick it no longer works for airplanes unless you set it back. If you plan on using the radio for both airplanes and trucks I personally would not want to change that back and forth all the time and would get a different radio for the truck.
Wanted to add the same. Also using 80T motors for these Tamiya trucks. Thanks to the transmission, it still can drive pretty fast, if you want to. Side effect: The current is also lower and the battery will last even longer (not that this is really an issue, but still).
I have used 90 turn motors but still prefer the 45 or 55 turn motors for most of my trucks. Better all around than the 80 turn in my opinion. The 80 turn has some issues with the MFC in reverse (not enough power).
I assembled the transmission 5 times with only being able to use first or third gear, second and third, or first and second. After your video now I have access to all three gears should I want it to go super fast in third gear. I am also using a basic brushed motor speed controller because I can't use the mfc with the remote I prefer.
WANT TO GET SOME PARTS FROM RCPS AND CAN NOT GET A HOLD OF HIM AND HIS FACEBOOK IS HARD TO FIGURE OUT. I GUESS HE DO NOT WANT TO SELL ANYTHING. TRY TO POST BUT HIS PAGE IS SCREWED UP.

Long time builder, always use your electronic kits to complete. First Knight Hauler for me also.
This is gold, especially for every new builder. Most of it will be true for other Tamiya trucks, too.

Great Build Bob. Excellent Work again.

Another awesome build👌🏾😎 Nice paint job. Love my Knight Hauler. Thanks for sharing

I usually sell the trucks. Most of the time I build them the way I want to but occasionally one is being built for a specific customer.
👍💪 great job Rob, amazing nice truck 😊

Super beau camion je viens de terminer le SCANIA 770 je pense que ça va être mon nouveau projet Merci pour ses vidéo très bien fait. 👍🇨🇦
Awesome looking truck, i think i need to build one soon. Just need to build my Scania 770s first.

I have every intention of keeping up the videos!! Thank You!

Great job Bob. I'm not a fan of these vibration units, too. Modern trucks aren't so shaky as the ones decades ago.
To allow for easy removal if the cab, I used a 25 way D-type connector set between the LEDs and the MFC.
The night hauler and the Cascadia were a one piece cab and sleeper design
I also got an older truck from my uncle. I set it up with a new radio and receiver. Just trying to figure out the old electronics.
Back in the day Tamiya had a light kit that included switches in the back of the cab. If its one of those you can probably find instructions online. Some of the older MFC's do not work with digital radios so if you have one of those you can email me for info...
I like the video I am new to re trucks which ball bearings did you use and were to go to get different motor.

❤Your work is very wonderful. Question: Are the electronics included with the truck in the box or do you buy them separately?
🇩🇰🇩🇰🤩Nice build 🚨looks great 🇩🇰🇩🇰
I do wonder, do "Euro Style" MFC could be instal in this specific truck 🤔 since MFC for US trucks are hard to get and even if they way more expensive
You can install either MFC in any truck. The MFC-03 has Euro truck sounds and a few things operate differently but fit and operation are fine.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC ah thanks for response sir 😊

Doesn't the MFC have a VR for turning down the cab shaker? VR2?
Bob, a legitimate question, please.
Would the fenders and bumper assembly from a Grand Hauler fit as a direct swap onto this truck's frame, or would we be drilling new holes?
Bumpers would fit right on. Rear Grand Hauler style fenders would need to have holes drilled.

Hiya Bob. New dong & bone (cell fone) great videos like the new Bere fmu.
Whats the paint process Bob? Ive painted mine and it came out terrible! Whats the process from getting it out the box to having it finished? Do you prime it? Sand it? Lacquer it? etc etc
I will do a multi color body paint video soon.

Have you ever tried an 80 turn motor ? Much better scale speeds

Full operation kit?
Would love to see a SFR-1
I will do another one more custom with an SFR-1 at some point.
nice build but would like to actually see some of the building process not just the after effect
I do that on a lot of my videos. Check out the Grand Hauler for novices series!
nice
The instructions for assembling the transmission are nowhere near as clear as the way you show. Thanks for the help
Something nice about having a video!

💕👍
I wanted 2 become a fan ...... But that fan pissed me off
I like your You Tube name!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC why thank you kind sir 🫡
