As a father of 4 kids, you don't get gifts so much, because your gifts are watching your kids open up all the things they have been wanting for months. Then when Christmas day comes, rather than sitting back and relaxing, you get to put various gifts together. However, the feelings I had of anticipation all day waiting for this episode to drop, it brought me back to Christmases gone past waiting to open the Nes, Snes and N64. It's a feeling, I haven't felt in years. Thanks osw

I had the honour to have dinner with Ted Dibiase as part of a promotional giveaway from a local radio station. He and Virgil (Vincent) were a blast and awesome to listen about their wrestling history. I am sad to hear that he is involved in that scandal. ☹

About Savage being the catalyst for the split of the nWo: That was actually how it started in 98 with the Wolfpac. It was Savage who became less and less controllable and even at one point punched out Bischoff during a segment. Everything looked like Savage would lead the Wolfpac, but then somehow Nash completely took over his storyline and it was all about him and Hogan all of a sudden, with Savage being pushed to the side as just one of Nash's minions in the Wolfpac. I can't remember if Macho got injured or what happened for him to lose this storyline, but I was quite pissed about it.
I'm pretty sure that was when he tore his ACL.

Quite LITERALLY just finished re-watching the World War III review where Luger's mad noises get pointed out and here's a brand new episode waiting!
My favorite part of Dean Malenko perving on Lita was when he invited her back to his hotel room with the wonderful line, "You can't deny the feelings between us, Leet-Oh."
My man was anti-charisma all the way through his career. It's amazing isn't it? That was the only time he had a character and he gave us the most robotic acting only Dean Malenk can give us. The "Double-Ho 7" gimmick was short but hilarious.
My favorite line in that angle was Dean saying "Only my wife is married." 😂
2022 has been tough for me, but I discovered OSW.

I bought a Peacock subscription last year and one of the first things I saw was this episode of Nitro.
And man it felt like an eternity, ESPECIALLY the Hogan segments.
Thank you so much for doing this guys. My girlfriend and long time friend in general just passed Christmas eve and this has managed to at least make me smile through some tears. Love you Lads ❤️

Yeah it was an awesome match and a huge storyline cuz the both looked so crazy... The powerbomb was banned for a few months. They also had a rematch at Uncensored 1998.

In early 1998 the faction started having trouble due to Macho and Hogan fighting for leadership, with Macho and Nash leaving to start the NWO Red and Black. Macho was made the leader at first, but got injured soon after and Nash became the leader.

This feels like a proper Christmas present!! Can't really describe how much your videos make me laugh. I'm from Dublin but now live in Australia and the humour in OSW Review cracks me up like nothing else. I voted for 'seasons beatings' as shamefully the 'new gen' era was my most committed time to wrestling, however you guys make anything entertaining. During the depths of covid lockdown I felt nostalgic and looked up Wrestlemania 6 to watch Hogan/Warrior and found OSW by accident. It was so fucking weird to hear wrestling being commentated by 3 Dublin lads. I was in stitches immediately. Made me less homesick!

Theory actually bounced back well from that burial... it seems like Trips wanted to bring him all the way down to the bottom and build him back up from there, to wash away the stink of McMahon. He didn't look out of place at all in the recent Triple Threat at the Pay-Per-View with two huge Stars. I think he's going places.
It only looks bad if you view it through a Vince-led lens, who had conditioned us to thinking if you're at your lowest, you're done unless you do a shit comedy gimmick. It's refreshing to see WWE NOT do that shit now!

@@elltell1990 Nah it looks bad whatever way you look at it, no lover of Vince or his horrific booking for over 20 years but it's just biased giving any kind of credit to that shit, having him cash in on a mid card title during an open fucking challenge was the most hilariously stupid thing I've seen in wrestling for YEARS. Nobody gets any credit for anything there, even his redemption afterwards because there's every chance they only did that because of the backlash rather than it being some master plan. Even with him being booked well afterwards the briefcase gimmick is still dead, which if they were actually getting rid of it is fine...as far as I know though they're not, it's impossibly hard to care about it now, who gives a shit if they cash in on a vulnerable midcarders who are vulnerable anyway...because they're midcarders.

Giant vs. Nash took place at Souled Out in January '98. That was when Nash dropped him on his head. They did meet again in January '99, which Nash won and Giant left WCW to go to WWF right after.

I've got some bad news for you Jay. You're wrong about when Nash and Giant had a match. They actually had a match a month after the Starrcade '97 no show, at Souled Out '98. It's a shame you missed this because it would have been a great moment to get V1 and OOC's reaction to Nash botching the Jacknife powerbomb he does to Giant, dropping the Big Show on his neck.

More than any other episode of WCW you guys have covered I think this one conveys the problems with WCW more than any other. No one gave a shit and everyone near the top was just happy to take a check and phone it in.
I love that OSW and Botchamania have a "vibe" that can't be described unless you're a fan of both and I have been for years and always will be. The 8-Bit cards, video game music, the 80's and 90's pop culture references, the intros and endings. The OSW crew are the only across the pond accents that I can enjoy listening to because they're so in touch with Western culture it feels natural and familiar. Every other channel just sounds like a bland BBC nature documentary and I can't do it. I'll die a happy man if I ever get a "winner is you" reply from Jay. Yours truly, an OSW FUCKING MARK!

I'd have him in my stable as well I fuckin love Flash Norton. He reminded me of the guys my Dad used to hang with and he has a 7 megaton double barrel chest. I always put him up there with Meng for the biggest nightmare to fight and say he should have played the Juggernaut in the X-Men movies instead of Dickhead Wallyvoice. Top 3 powerbombs of all time as well.
Hell yeah, good to know I'm not the only one, lol. I hated NWO growing up, cause I was to young and dumb to understand kayfabe, but loved Norton. He's my boy 4Life. Loved playing as him in NWO/WCW Revenge and breaking fools.
He's a two time IWGP Champion though, so wouldn't that disqualify him from being a boy?
@Brownie_the_3rd This is also my thought. I think they touched on it in the Warrior arc that they couldn't see how he was champion. But he was awesome in Japan, and WCW really didn't use him well. DQ'd as a boy for me as I know him best from NJPW, but he would be a boy if he qualified.
25:20 Smackdown was actually stacked back then. Later on they got the Smackdown 6 and it was the show to watch because Trips was hogging up RAW so all the talent shined on Smackdown.

Was thinking about the point brought up at around 1:01:38 with the nwo ignoring lower card belts, and I think that turned out to be a big positive. Those guys got to shine on their own without dealing with every match ending on a screwy finish, or in the rare time that they would've beat an nwo member, it would've ended with a post match beat down and spray painting. We ended up getting a ton of awesome matches and feuds in the cruiserweight division (with Jericho vs Malenko being peak) and we got to see the rise of Booker T as a singles star, which started with his TV title reigns.

Actually the segment with Kane pressing "Stephanie" above his head was actually Lita dressed as Stephanie, which you can kinda tell when they zoom in.
