That’s my town too. I lived in Barrio Palmarllano on our family farms. My family were members of the Catholic Church in Lares. Jose Feliciano’s father was friends with my grandfather. We sold a lot of coffee to Nescafé in Lares and around Christmas would roast a pig and make rice with beans. I always enjoyed a cold Malta India. So glad to hear you were also from Lares. Thanks for the great videos. 🇵🇷😊🙌🏼
Thank you so much. Great child hood memories. My brother grew up and went to school in Lares. He lived with my grand parents. I live in barrio de Angeles in Utaldo. Than move to Bayamon and then Air Force. I got great ice cream.
Thank you for sharing!!! My grandfather Jorge Castro and great-grandfather are from Francisco Castro Jr. Lares. My great-great-grandfather, Francisco Castro ( DeCastro ) the senior, fled to Puerto Rico from Vennzulean during the revolution, but he is originally from Galicia Spain. To see Lares, and to see it in a way none of them did, high in the sky, changed my heart today. I am filled with so much Gratitude. Thank you Ovi. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this video. It brings back many memories. My mothers side of the family is from there. Her last name was Cuevas. My wife is American and she wants me to bring her to the island some day to visit. I showed her this video and she really enjoyed it also. God bless you.
Hola Ovi , amiguito, en esa parte de la isla, llueve bastante, por eso el paisaje siempre verde y fresco. Para mi de las zonas mas lindas de Puerto Rico. 👍🐸💝😃.
I met Jose Feliciano when I was about 8 years old. My family lived a block away from his mother and three brothers. I went to school with his brother, Jimmy Feliciano. That was back in the early 70's. I drove by the old Feliciano house about two months ago and the house is still there, but not the one I lived in. Great memories.
Me encanto, bello mi pueblo. Ovi me encantan tus videos. Godd bless
Thanks for sharing! The best childhood memories I have are from Lares🙌🏽🇵🇷 how I miss those days. But grateful to have been able to live and enjoy those moments. My mom’s hometown.
Thank you Maria. I lived in this town for about two years when a kid, in Espino right next to Jose Feliciano's family. That was back in the early 70's.
I luv ❤️ Your Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 videos !! The BEST on UA-cam !! Looking forward to seeing you Quebradillas Video !! Thank you for doing what you do !! We your subscribers truly appreciate it !!
I ran into your channel and man its a great channel. Love the humbleness of it all. And especially the tours around the island. Haven't been in PR in a long time and it looks great. I'm binge watching your vids now 😉😂
This has to be one of your best videos, just absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much for posting, also thank you the relaxing music as opposed to your louder music : )
Hi Ovi! Teresa here (Hayden's friend). Another GREAT vlog! I watch ALL your videos and am just wondering.....do you have plans to move back to Puerto Rico with your wife when you retire? It's easy to see how very much you miss PR! I will return in January 2020 for my 5th annual visit (I always stay in a tiny house on my friend's property in Arecibo) and with less than 4 years to go before retirement really want to explore the possibility of finding a place to purchase somewhere around Arecibo or Hatillo or even further west down the coast towards Isabela or Aquadilla! I would love to have a place to spend months at a time in PR when I retire and perhaps rent it out when I'm not there. Cheers, Teresa
Hi Teresa. I am close to retirement too and will spend a lot more time on the island in the future. But I can't make a permanent move because of family here in the states. My wife wants to live very close to the grandchildren and they are all here. However, I will visit more often. There should be many places for sale there, especially now that many have moved to the mainland. Sounds like you are about to embark on an adventure looking for a new home. Wish you the best.
@@oviduran Thanks for your reply and I totally understand! :) I have one son and if he gets married and has a grandchild for me....nothing could keep me away from that child! :)
Good video as always! Lares es el pueblo donde me crié. Just wondering! Was the house on the right after Domingo Aponte Collazo, the school you said was your second grade and the bridge fixed? The last time I went to Lares in 2016 that house was all destroyed and gave an impression of an abandoned town. I wonder if they finished destroying it or fixed it. I was expecting you to go right instead of left when close to the bridge but you where going to the town and couldn't see it. Just if you went to Lares before this video. Loved the music!

Lares is famous all over the world because one of the greatest guitarists and singers of the planet was born, the genius Jose Feliciano

Mi Hermoso Pueblo cua no lo extrano
Is El Coqui better than Yaucono?
It depends on personal preference. I like both.
My town❤
Las Maria's es un Pueblo oh campo
Es un pueblo pequeño.
I had to turn off the video because that song is depressing for such a nice video

Didn't notice the house you speak of but the bridge is in great shape from I could tell. Nice town.
I hate that down never went back 👎
